Rodea the Sky Soldier is the newest game for the Wii U and 3DS and it's being developed by the original Sonic series creator, Yuji Naka. It's planned for release in April 5th in Japan and somewhere in the Fall for everywhere else.

This game was originally planned for the Wii in 2011, but due to the upcoming Wii U, it got put on hold... despite the game being completed. Now fast forward 4 years and the project is revived!

And if you get the first print of the Wii U version, you will also get the original Wii game!

Now, this game have been a wild ride for me personally. Being a fan of Yuji Naka's games, I couldn't wait for this game to get release on the Wii. It look like an awesome mixed of Kid Icarus Uprising and Nights into Dreams! And man, the graphics could rival Mario Galaxy:

But as I stated earlier, they had a hard time publishing this game due to the Wii U coming out next year (or did it came out in 2011?). And thus, I would be disappointed that I would never get to try this game out... until now that is. While I'm not a fan of how the Wii U version is looking so far, it probably be a decent game

Seriously, why are there barely any shadows?

It like they used the 3DS version as the based for the Wii U game:

So anyway, there are pre orders available on Amazon, Gamestop, and Best Buy so if this thread make you interested in the game, go ahead and get it.

(sorry for the weird spacing and spoiler heavy post, it been a while since I made a thread :chuckle:)

Is there any particular reason we'd want the original Wii version? Aside from the fact that it'd be kinda neat, that is.

They are pretty much different takes on the same concept.

The Wii Version is more streamlined and Arcade-y. It kinda like a Sonic game in a way. The Wii U and 3DS version is more aerial combat based. Rodea has a health bar in these versions while in the Wii game, you only have one hit of health. You can also upgrade the character in the 3DS and Wii U version by collecting items during the level.

So basically:

Wii version: More Sonic/NiGHTS-like game.
Wii U/3DS version: A free roaming Kid Icarus Uprising.

That and the Wii version is Yuji Naka's original vision while the other versions were handled by Kadokawa Games.
