Yeah, Sunny Day sucks, I know, but I don't care. Anyways, here's my random Sunny Day team

Infernape@Heat Rock
Jolly/Blaze
252Atk/252Spe/4Hp
-Sunny Day
-Flare Blitz
-Close Combat
-Thunder Punch

My lead. I chose Infernape to lead for a few reasons, the first is that it scares off quite a few common leads like Bronzong but also because of an interesting fact I learned when I first used him. The average Bulky Gyara lead(that is oh so retardedly common) cant OHKO him with Waterfall if the sun is up. This means that against a gyara lead I have enough time to get the sun up AND attack the next turn(or switch assuming I want Infernape to live) He's also one of the fastest pokemon that can set up Sunny Day so thats also useful.

Exeggutor@Lum Berry
Modest/Chlorophyll
252SpAtk/252Sp/4Hp
-Sunny Day
-Solar Beam
-Explosion
-HP Ice

You all knew it was coming, pretty standard fair really. Lum Berry cus I've found I sometimes need something that can switch into a status and I figured "Why not this guy?" I've been thinking of dropping Sunny Day on him since he already has alot of support and giving him Pyschic as a secondary STAB and a way to deal with Fire pokemon and Gengar.

Blissey@Leftovers
Calm/Natural Cure
40Hp/252Def/216SpDef
-Softboiled
-Seismic Toss
-Thunder Wave
-Aromatherapy

Extremely standard cleric. I lack a spinner so should something be able to lay down a layer of Toxic Spikes im gonna need this. The obvious problem is how predictable it is =\ I've been thinking of dropping softboiled for Wish as this team could really use some wish support

Tangrowth@Heat Rock
Modest/Chlorophyll
252SpAtk/252Spe/4Hp
-Sunny Day
-Solar Beam
-Hp Fire
-Sleep Powder

My first go to guy after Sunny set up, he's really bulky even without any EV's and can survive a strong physical hit or two. Sleep powder is usually saved until absolutely necessary or the turn Sunny Day is about to end to give me another chance to set up. HP Fire so Im not walled by Bronzong/Skarmory.

Heatran@Choice Scarf
Modest/Flash Fire
252SpAtk/236Spe/20Hp
-Fire Blast
-Earth Power
-HP Ice
-Explosion

Another standard and my "Fire" counter. Sunnyday+grass types attracts alot of fire attacks so its obviously good to have him as a back up. STAB+Sunnyday+Flash Fire on Fire Blast = Dangerous to everything. Scarf because I need something fast should Sunny Day come down.

Typhlosion@Choice Specs
Timid/Blaze
252SpAtk/252Spe/4hp
-Eruption
-Overheat
-Hp Ground
-Solar Beam

Not so standard fair here, this is sort of my "Last ditch effort" pokemon, and it has been met with some surprising results. Type coverage on this thing is meaningless, Solar Beam and HP ground are just in the off chance this thing comes in before it has too and even then they are rarely used(Solarbeam is for Swampert and HP ground is for flash fire pokemon) The idea is simple, bring him in at full health when sun is up then kill the next thing I see. SunnyspecsSTAB Eruption kills pretty much everything in one or two hits, so should my opponent be foolish enough to switch in something like a bulky water(like Suicune or Milotic or even Vaporeon and Gyarados) they're going to lose. Conversely should I be bringing him in at LOW health, SunnyspecsSTABblaze Overheat kills just about anything in one hit, and should they be lacking anything else to sponge special hits, Overheat will probably kill a second pokemon too(even with the special drop)

So yeah, this is my random Sunny Day team(sorry for the overly long explanations >.>) Its actually worked very well recently on Shoddy securing me quite a few wins, although thats probably just because its so unexpected. I know some of the more obvious counters, the two sandstream pokemon come to mind(although Hippowdon isnt that hard to deal with) One thing I have been thinking about changing is the HP's on Tangrowth and Exeggutor, swapping them out as Tangrowth is much more likely to encounter a dragon than Exeggutor.

Your team doesn't have enough type diversity. It has a little, but not enough. I really think you need a spinner, mainly for Typhlosion.

Bronzong might be helpful for setting up weather and SR on your foe.

Exeggutor wants HP (Rock) over HP (Ice)

An Electivire with Quick Attack could rip holes through your team. After Typhlosion has been taken care of, at least.

What does your team have against Wall-Breaker-Chomp and Wall-Breaker-Mence? They pack fire/ground/fighting attacks that could rip your team to pieces.

Again, Bronzong could help out a lot with levitate.

ummm, im not sure you've noticed but Bronzong REALLY doesn't like Sunny Day boosted Fire attacks >_>

I've yet to run into a quick attack Electivire with so, if I do, I'll totally care, but as of right now, it's been mostly(entirely) not a problem.

Originally I did think I needed a spinner, until I realized that I could use Stealth Rocks to my advantage. Overheat gets quite a bit more powerful when under Stab and with Blaze >.> Proper use of switching means that I can deal alot of damage with Blaze Overheat.

As for the wall breaker Mence, I usually just screw with it and it dies >.> Idk, I keep running into them and I keep just finding random ways to beat it >.> I honestly don't know why, I just havent had trouble figuring out what move its gonna use and simply switching correctly. I've actually had a Mixmence kill itself by coming in on a Flash Fire Sunny Fire Blast from Heatran(losing something like 59%) then just life orbing itself to death

You have 3 immunites as of now, fire, poison, and ghost.

You need a Rock resist pretty badly. You'll also need a flying resist. Another Fighting resist wouldn't hurt either.

Yanmega would tear through your team after Blissey is dead.

Yanmega @ Focus Sash
Speed Boost/Modest
252sp.atk/252spe/4hp
-Bug Buzz
-Air Slash
-HP (Ground)
-Hypnosis

Air Slash and HP (Ground) lands SE hits on every Pokemon on your team except Blissey.

Can Infernape ohko that same bulky Gyara with T-Punch?

What would you do if your opponent leads with a standard Hippowdon?

Something odd happened today on shoddybattle. Three battles in a row(with different people) I started with Infernape and all three times they had Gengar and I Sunny Day on turn one. They all switched to gyara and DD as I thunder punched, ripping out 75%(because of **** intimidate >.<) Then all three times, AFTER DD, I still out sped them with Infernape for the kill.

The only Hippowdon I've started against switched turn one(probably for fear of grass knot) Infernape is ALL MINDGAMES!!!

Assuming max IVs...

Max spe ape gets 346 spe. Gyara gets 198 - 261 spe with a neutral nature. A gyara needs at least 231 spe to outspeed ape after a DD. Standard Gyara uses only 223 spe. A Gyara needs 173 spe to tie ape after two DDs.

Try not to make everyone on your team dependent on the weather. Kind of like Blissey. Check out IC3R's Hail team for an example.

Also, if you play on Doug's CaP server on Shoddy, you can use Groudon and Kyogre in your team in OU. However, they have a level cap at LV.78 or 72 or something like that. Also their ability has been changed so that the weather they trigger doesn't last forever. It acts as if you just used the weather attack when you switch in. If using Groudon in your team sounds cool, you could try out the server there. Oh, and heat rock works with his ability too.
