Even though I've been with Pokemon since I was little back with Red/Blue/Yellow, I've never actually strategized. So regardless, I wanted to know what you guys thought of my CURRENT team. I'm still unsure of how this works so bear with me.

Lv92
Misdreavus@ Zap Plate
Levitate
Quiet
EVs: 238 HP / 166 Atk/ 145 Def / 200 SP Atk / 173 SP Def / 252 Speed
--------------------------------
Psybeam
Thunder
Thunderbolt
Shadow Ball

Acts as my electric-type. That's pretty much it. The first in my line-up.

Lv60
Leafeon@ Big Root
Leaf Guard
Impish
EVs: 172 HP / 156 Atk/ 198 Def / 89 SP Atk / 103 SP Def / 143 Speed
--------------------------------
Razor Leaf
Giga Drain
Magical Leaf
Energy Ball

I'm still training him, he's basically just a scout to see what I'm up against.

Lv77 Rhyperior@ Smoke Ball
Lightning Rod
Rash
EVs: 304 HP / 262 Atk/ 242 Def / 129 SP Atk / 89 SP Def / 93 Speed
-------------------------------------------
Rock Wrecker
Rock Climb
Poison Jab
Earthquake

Physical Wall: I use him to give me time to organize my next few moves since he can take a beating.

Lv100 Infernape@ Razor Claw
Blaze
Relaxed
EVs: 286 HP / 256 Atk/ 185 Def / 262 SP Atk / 183 SP Def / 243 Speed
-------------------------------------------
Fire Blast
Blast Burn
Close Combat
Rock Smash

Physical sweeper: Used to take em out fast and hard. Whatever Fire doesn't kill, my Close Combat will.

Lv65 Tentacruel@ Wave Incense
Clear Body
Impish
EVs: 200 HP / 129 Atk/ 117 Def / 122 SP Atk / 178 SP Def / 168 Speed
-------------------------------------------
Blizzard
Sludge Bomb
Hydro Pump
Surf

He's just kinda.... there.

Lv45 Togetic@ Exp. Share
Hustle
Docile
EVs: 113 HP / 58 Atk/ 85 Def / 88 SP Atk / 111 SP Def / 48 Speed
-----------------------------------------------
Solar Beam
Magical Leaf
Fly
Psychic

In-training

well, before 4 people tell you to read the RMT guidelines, I suggest that you head up on some research. It's obvious that you have to start somewhere, so here is as good as any-

1. you'll want lv 100s, fully evolved, and preferably with optimal spreads, movesets, and roles to give yourself the best chance to win. without being competitive, there's not much point in competing.
2. rhyperior is terrible.

But yeah, as Umby warned you, read the RMT guidlines, use EVs rather than stats, use level 100s...
But also, go to Smogon, see the sets, see the EVs, learn to breed and EV Train if you want a good team.

If you don't want to do anything like that, just go and download Shoddy Battle.

Two recommendations of how to "get into" competitive Pokemon:

1. Ladder on Shoddy Battle a ton.
2. Read a RMT of a great team. The first two posts in this thread or the first three posts in this here thread give an idea of what competitive Pokemon is.
