I almost want to sticky this. This is what a RMt should look like. It's clearly organized, you've given explanations for each team member, you've even given the EV spreads.

I promise to actually look through your team and see if I noitce anyting.

Peachtress put in Thunderbolt over Thunderpunch to hit Skarmory harder. Wouldn't you rather hit 70 SD than 140 Defense?

hmm, maybe you're right. But what harm can Skarmory cause, if Electivire's faster, it can 2hko it before it can use spikes,Stealth Rock etc and if it does that, switch to Claydol and Rapid Spin them away.

But if Peachtress(I'm only referring you to your username because I don't know your gender) switches to Claydol to use Rapid Spin, the opponent's Poke might be able to do a lot of damage to Claydol while it spins, or the oppo might switch to a counter, etc. Then Peachtress would either have to switch, allowing the oppo Poke to stat-up, etc, or make Claydol explode, losing a Poke for the match.

Oh yes, about the Thunder Punch/Bolt thing. Thunderbolt isn't effected by Intimidate, allowing for a strong STAB that can't be weakened.

I'm kind of on the fence about Thunderpunch over thunderbolt. I use adamant with thunderpunch and I haven't had any problems with Skarmory. From my experience if the opponenet sees you use thunderpunch they won't switch Skarmory out when facing Electivire because they follow the defense>SpD logic. You will either severely weaken them or kill them depending on their health.

Keeping thunderpunch allows you to take advantage of Electivires attack stat. And you don't need to waste any EVs in SpAtk. This is really up to you but I personally prefer Adamant with punch.

Looked on Serebii for their max stats:

416 Max Defense on Skarm, 379 Max Attack for Electivire
317 Max Sp. Att for Electivire, 262 Max Sp. Def. for Skarm

It's a toss-up, really. Thunderpunch will hit Skarm hard - 2HKO, but Thunderbolt looks like it'll OHKO Skarm. It really depends on the nature you're working with.

For that Electivire, I'd go with Thunderpunch.

Stamping your library books.
This team has a bit of an Ice/Electric weakness, but other than that, I see no problems.

But even after considering that... It seems to me that this team has no real flaws.

drcossack, I still prefer thunder punch as not only will Skarmory not be on every team but once he's gone you can continue to take advantage of Electivire's attack.

Hm, I think my Yanmega has HP Ice. I'll need to check that.

This team looks straight from Smogon D/P Analyses XD.

It's a good team, and I think the Vire you have is fine, a guy on my PNL team has the same one and its good and can take out my Skarmory and Blissey easily (mine has punch, though).

lol, this RMT turned into a Electivire discussion.

Uh, props for Licklicky I was going to use one to beat unsuspecting noobs. If you end up using this team let us now how it goes and if you find any obvious weaknesses.

Thunderbolt makes it harder for Weezing and Forretress to beat Electivire. His offensive prowess isn't entirely crippled if he gets burned, although he will be very easy to shut down once his Attack is reduced. It's of minor importance, but Thunderbolt will OHKO Skarmory, whereas Thunderpunch will not. Thunderbolt isn't affected by Intimidate, although common Intimidators like Gyarados, Salamence, and Staraptor will be loathe to ever switch in. Thunderpunch eliminates the need to split his offensive EVs, enabling him to invest more into Speed or even HP. Thunderpunch also does more damage than Thunderbolt should you need to send Electivire in on a Calm Minding Suicune. Thunderpunch can also do more damage - on average - to those who are neutral to all of Electivire's attacks, such as Dusknoir, Cresselia, and Spiritomb.

So it's pretty much Peachtress' choice.

Thanks for your good ratings...

I tried out the team, and it turns out it didn't have enough offense. The team could take hits like no tomorrow, but when it came to hitting, it failed. The thunderbolt is for Skarmory as opposed to thunderpunch because Skarm has good defense and...yeah. Turns out Lickilicky is a beast at tanking and electivire was far to fragile and the lack of Speed EVs hurt him. I'm curently replacing 'Vire with Garchomp and Togekiss with Gengar, for a more sweeper-oriented team.

Thanks, hope to see more input.

Well at least we know you'll take advice. I was going to suggest the replacement of Togekiss or possibly Yanma but I thought you would enjoy the baton passing too much.

I need to know something : what does EV mean? I posted my team once but then
someone showed me the rules and I need to know what to do before I post it again so I can get things
right.

First of all, you could've asked this question in the Q & A thread instead of bumping this dead thread.

Second, there's a sticky. It's here.
