Here is my pitiful attempt at making a Hail based team. I'm most likely not gonna use it over Wifi...so...

Abomnasnow@Leftovers
Jolly/Snow Warning
252 Hp/128 Spd/128 Sp Atk
-Leech Seed
-Energy Ball
-Blizzard
-Substitute
Well, my starter to immediately bring out Hail, then Sub-Seed, followed up by either of my two STAB attacks.

Weavile@Choice Band/Scarf
Adamant/Pressure
252 Atk/252 Spd/4 Hp
-Ice Punch
-Brick Break
-Aerial Ace
-Night Slash
Eh...I'm not sure if this is the standard Weavile...

Glaceon@Choice Specs?
Timid/Snow Cloak
252 Spd/172 Sp Atk/86 Sp Def
-Mirror Coat
-Blizzard
-Water Pulse
-Hail
My second Hail-bringer. Blizzard foes into oblivion, and Water Pulse those pesky Fire types.

Froslass@Wise Glasses
Modest/Snow Cloak
252 Sp Atk/252 Spd/4 Hp
-Shadow Ball
-Thunder Wave
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt
A pretty decent special sweeper. Paralyze pokes that are too quick, then sweep.

Mamoswine@Leftovers
Jolly/Snow Cloak
200 Hp/200 Spd/108 Atk
-Hail
-Earthquake
-Ice Fang
-Return/Toxic
My last Hail-bringer. EQ, Ice Fang and either Toxic or Return depending if I need a stronger attack, or status support.

Walrein@Leftovers
Calm/Ice Body
252 Hp/100 Def/106 Sp Def/5o Sp Atk
-Substitute
-Blizzard
-Stockpile
-Swallow
Ugh...my pathetic tank of this team. Sub+Lefties+Hail+Ice Body heal me, and I hit with Blizzard or Stockpile-->Swallow to regain more Hp. The defense and special defense boosts are also very nice.

Overall, it has worked out for me. Infernape ***** my team, but Mamoswine should be able to take 1 Flare Blitz and come back with Earthquake.

Well, rate away...:urg:

Consider Focus Punch over Energy Ball. Why would this be Jolly when you're using no physical attacks and two special attacks? It should be Timid, even if it has Focus Punch.

Weavile@Choice Band/Scarf
Adamant/Pressure
252 Atk/252 Spd/4 Hp
-Ice Punch
-Brick Break
-Aerial Ace
-Night Slash
Eh...I'm not sure if this is the standard Weavile...

Consider Pursuit, maybe over Aerial Ace.

Glaceon@Choice Specs?
Timid/Snow Cloak
252 Spd/172 Sp Atk/86 Sp Def
-Mirror Coat
-Blizzard
-Water Pulse
-Hail
My second Hail-bringer. Blizzard foes into oblivion, and Water Pulse those pesky Fire types.

I don't know about Mirror Coat. Consider Fake Tears, and HP Fighting over Water Pulse. That way, you can handle Blissey.

Froslass@Wise Glasses
Modest/Snow Cloak
252 Sp Atk/252 Spd/4 Hp
-Shadow Ball
-Thunder Wave
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt
A pretty decent special sweeper. Paralyze pokes that are too quick, then sweep.

If you want it to be a Special Sweeper, give it Choice Specs.

Mamoswine@Leftovers
Jolly/Snow Cloak
200 Hp/200 Spd/108 Atk
-Hail
-Earthquake
-Ice Fang
-Return/Toxic
My last Hail-bringer. EQ, Ice Fang and either Toxic or Return depending if I need a stronger attack, or status support.

Mamoswine has better things to do than use Hail. Consider giving it Choice Band.

Walrein@Leftovers
Calm/Ice Body
252 Hp/100 Def/106 Sp Def/5o Sp Atk
-Substitute
-Blizzard
-Stockpile
-Swallow
Ugh...my pathetic tank of this team. Sub+Lefties+Hail+Ice Body heal me, and I hit with Blizzard or Stockpile-->Swallow to regain more Hp. The defense and special defense boosts are also very nice.

Have you heard about the recently made Walrein set? If you're using a Hail team, consider using it.

32 turns of stall in the Hail: Walrein

Overall, it has worked out for me. Infernape ***** my team, but Mamoswine should be able to take 1 Flare Blitz and come back with Earthquake.

Mamoswine@Life Orb
Adamant/Jolly

This is better for Mamoswine.

Mamoswine can't take a Flare Blitz. But Weavile can kill it with an Aerial Ace.

Abomy needs to be Timid and should have Focus Blast or HP FIghting to handle Steels...And if you do that, give it Grasswhistle if you feel like putting foes to sleep...

Weavile@Choice Band/Scarf

I'd go with the Scarf and Aerial Ace; whats' gonna happen when a ScarfCross comes and Close Combats everyone on your team except for Froslass?

Why the Specs? It's SpAt is pretty decent already, and it has a Support move crucial to the team. Lol @ Fake Tears...

I honestly think that its attacking power is being squandered though...

Overall, it's a good team; and there's always that onePoke that'll tear it to shreds...It's just a rule or something...It's not as solid as I think a Hail Team should be, but that may be because I built one and it's not as cool as mine :p Didya catch the puns? Didya? DIDYA? No? :ohwell: But seriously, it's a bit above average in theme teams IMO; so I give this Hail Team:

A 7.8/10, and a boot to the head...

Remember, there's no "I" in team; because everyone should be able too see!!!
Eh, who am I kidding...

One more thing:
NO ARTICUNO?!?! :psycho:

Wii4mii said EVERYTHING i wanted to say.
which was mainly the walrein set.
;P
aside from that, you shouldn't be risking your abomasnow very much, anyway: get rid of the other two hailers.
And by 'get rid', i mean get rid of hail

Isn't the standard Stallrein:

Walrein @ Leftovers
Bold/Calm, Ice Body
252hp, 128 def/spdef
Substitute
Protect
Surf
Blizzard

I have this in my hail team and it's amazingly annoying.

Your Mamoswine needs some work. give it Ice Shard and choice band!

:yoshi: I like this team for the most part.

First things first. You need something to rapid spin--I usually don't make a point to force these, but you will be doing lots of switching and one turn is all they need to put a dent in your day. If you need an ice spinner, I'd suggest Cloyster and put him over Walrein, even. He's sturdier than Walrein, but doesn't last as long considering Ice Body + Leftovers, but does his job--he spins, he spikes, he explodes, and he dishes out very very nice double STAB, so you can do whatever you like with him. He also survives any non-boosted Close Combat with plenty of HP to spare, so he can take one, switch out, and come in on something later.

As far as sets go, I don't know where the stalling Walrein thing came in, but anything with a weather move that has STAB super effective against it breaks the entire strategy in two to three turns (pick who you want, but auto-weater like Tyranitar is namely what's the most effective). I don't suggest it as it's been played to the point of overuse and any team that sees an Abomasnow starter will be spending the first few turns being careful about letting a Walrein come in. It's generally a terrible idea unless the person you're playing against a] has never been to Trendsetters Anonymous Smogon or b] has no anti-gay measures on hand.

Do not use Peck on Mamoswine.

Water pulse is fine for Glaceon; you have no business staying in on Blissey, anyway. HP fighting isn't going to do enough to count. Fake Tears is okay, Wish is not-so-good, but usable, basically you want to look at the Egg Moves here for other options. I don't know why its base speed is so low--it's a shame, really. I don't suggest a choice set, to be honest. This team needs to status/support gay the opposition as much as possible and choice sets just allow them to switch in resists and force you to leave.

Mamoswine can use Stone Edge to some degree of proficiency, and I'll say why later. Also, don't use Peck.

For Froslass, she has a very nice speed rating and surprisingly decent defenses considering people mainly use her for special sweeping. If you're not using a choice set, consider using Block if she finds herself in either a good or not-so-bad matchup. If the matchup is good, they can't switch out and if the matchup is not so good, you can switch out to a much better matchup while taking (hopefully) minimal damage and abusing the fact that they can't switch on the same turn that you do, in essence, forcing them to switch on the proceeding turn, giving you a free setup or just a free attack with whomever.

Please don't use Peck on Mamoswine.

But seriously, don't use it. Return is less than optimal here. One thing this team has problems with is speed, which is why a] you want to keep Froslass and her Twave around as much as possible and b] you may want to consider running Rock Tomb or Scary Face (seriously). Curse is an option, but makes a +speed nature useless, so use a +defense nature instead.

The first problem I'm seeing with this team is the general setup. EV spreads, natures, items, etc. For instance, with Weavile...you need to pick one. You can't just put a slash between the scarf and the band and expect either to work. If you use a scarf, you may want to consider a +attack nature. For the band, +speed is what you want (thought I would do +speed in either case, considering the problems this team has with speed). As for the EV spreads, +nature 252 spread is good for things like Galceon, but let's look at something like Abomansnow. What are you outspeeding in particular with that spread? More importantly, do the things that you outspeed matter? Could you put any spare EVs into a more useful stat? Also, for things that might use a scarf, would those same speed EVs matter, or would you need more or less or a different nature? Just something to consider, as I haven't run the math to see what he beats yet with those numbers.

The other problem I see with this team is a weird one. It's not necessarily "coverage," but some types you're just not beating here. One of them, ironically, is ice. Another one that comes to mind is water or steel. This you can't help, really, but it's why you may want to keep Froslass (Thunderbolt) and Mamoswine (Stone Edge/Earthquake) alive as long as possible. The the thing about steels in particular is this: they come in three varieties. Tanks, fighters, and walls. The tanks are things like Metagross (who does a number on this team, by the way, especially with Agility) and Bronzong, who take little to nothing from things like HP fighting (which is neutral on them, but beside the point) along with maybe Magnezone and certainly don't run in fear of ice. The fighters are things like Lucario, Heatran, and Jirachi who outspeed you with or without Choice Scarf most times. Walls are basically things like Probopass, Empoleon, Bastiodon, and maybe Steelix (but Ice is neutral on him so blast away if it's special) which all but absorb ice (Empoleon with 4x resist and his amazing defenses is a serious WTF). If you can successfully take out the ice, steel, and water threats on the opposing team, you stand a good chance of making some headway.

I hope all of this made sense, I was kinda doing this and some other stuff at the time. I probably forgot to put something here, but I'll change that later, I guess.

P.S. - Wow, I almost forgot this. Yeah, don't lead with Abomasnow. It gets you hail, but you'll always ALWAYS have to switch out unless the lead is like...Gyarados or something. I suggest leading with Froslass and working from there. Weavile is a bad lead, too, stay away from that.

That Walrein set has been on Smogon for a long long time, and quite a large hype was made over it. Far more than it deserves IMO. Kudos to the creator for creative use of an otherwise outclassed Pokemon (Read: Lapras and now Dewgong with its new Hydration), but it's not really the monster it's made out to be. Mess up the spikes and the Walrein's not very useful, easily beaten by a Pressure staller (Read: Suicune, Zapdos if Walrein is packing Surf, Spiritomb, Dusknoir), a pokemon that isn't affected by Toxic Spikes (Breloom, anyone? Mach Punch to screw with you too. Muk is a good UU counter with high SpDef as well, and Swalot with its giant HP will be able to Rest off your damage too. They all have recovery moves to survive in Hail). Now that that's out of my system, I do acknowledge that if unprepared, it is not hard at all to be utterly flattened by this thing. If Toxic Spikes are allowed to be setup, this thing can be a giant pain in the ***. When I played this thing, the only reason I didn't get owned was because I switched in Cradily after 1 layer of Toxic Spikes and outstalled him. But if you think about it, this thing is really very easily countered. It just has the advantage of the element of surprise and the fact that to counter this thing completely, you often have to be very overly specialized. For example, ResTalk Octillery would counter this thing. But who the hell uses Octillery? Well I do. But even I wouldn't ResTalk with it. This thing really has a problem with PP, and if you can stall it out, you can't really lose. Oh and just an afterthought, now Glalie has some use in countering this thing :] Block actually traps the Walrein and you can have fun stalling out its PP while Taunt prevents usage of Substitute and Roar and possibly Toxic.

By the way, for anyone who wishes to read an EXTREMELY detailed analysis of this Wall-rein, here is the original Smogon thread from which this thing originated.

Who said I was being cocky? If I made Wall-rein, then I'd be pretty darn smart.

That's the EXACT same thread I posted a link to in my post...
