OK, first off, I'm gonna say right here and now that I am a n00b when it comes to competitive battling. I just downloaded netbattle yesterday, and totally got ***** in my first match. So, I did a little research, and tried to come up with a team. Let me know if I'm on the right track, or if I need to just scrap it all and start over....

Smeargle@Chesto Berry

Bold Nature
Own Tempo

Baton Pass
Minimize
Spore
Substitute

EV's: Attack 19 | Defense 128 | Speed 151 | Sp. Atk 19 | Sp. Def. 140| HP 53

*I wanted this guy to start things off by Sporing, and hopefully getting in a substitute and 1-2 Minimizes before BPing. I've had problems keeping his subs up for long, though. Between him and my next pkmn, I have no idea what items to use with them...

Ninjask@Focus Band

Bold Nature
Speed Boost

Baton Pass
Faint Attack
Substitute
Swords Dance

EV's: Attack 79 | Defense 110 | Speed 2 (used the "weakness" settings on the EV sliders) | Sp. Atk 110 | Sp. Def. 110 | HP 99

*This is my second line of BP. Hopefully, he comes in behind Smeargle's Substitute, and can get off at least two Sword Dances w/his natural Speed Boost. I had Quick Claw attached to it, until I learned that a lot of ppl don't take to kindly to that item...

Snorlax@Leftovers

Relaxed Nature
Immunity

Amnesia
Curse
Earthquake
Shadow Ball

EV's Attack 103 | Defense 67 | Speed 26 | Sp. Atk 61 | Sp. Def 103 | HP 150

*My good ol' fashioned tank of sorts. I try to curse up a bit to set up Shadow Ball/EQ. I just added EQ about an hour ago in place of a useless HP Psychic. He tends to work out well, unless I come across a Skarmory or such...

Swampert@Leftovers

Quiet Nature
Torrent

Earthquake
Surf
Ice Beam
Hidden Power (been going btw Flying and Electric...)

EV's Attack 97 | Defense 79 | Speed 76 | Sp. Atk 100 | Sp. Def 70 | HP 88

*This guy is mainly to cover my *** when things start going bad, or to abuse a type matchup. I actually tried BPing to him once, and it def. caught the other person off guard. The whole HP flying thing was to take out Ludicolo and the HP Electric was for Skarmory/Starmie

Vigoroth@Scope Lens

Naughty Nature
Vital Spirit

Earthquake
Shadow Ball
Slash
Hidden Power (Electric)

EV's Attack 93 | Defense 93 | Speed 103 | Sp. Atk 64 | Sp. Def 64 | HP 93

This is usually the recipient of my Baton Passes. If done right, I should have put on at least 2-3 minimizes, 3 Sword Dances, and 3 Speed Boosts. Pair that with Slash/Scope Lens, and well...yay. Unfortunately, I rarely get everything I want passed to him, so...not yay.

Dodrio@Leftovers

Rash Nature
Early Bird

Haze
Drill Peck
Torment
Hidden Power (Grass...was Ground)

EV's Attack 118 | Defense 74 | Speed 118 | Sp. Atk 72 | Sp. Def 64 |HP 64

*Well, this guy is my hazer...but outside of that, I really don't know what purpose he actually serves :ohwell: I can't remember of the top of my head why I changed HP from Ground to Grass...maybe I will when I get back from class...

And that's it. At this point, I know that I need someone with some electric/rock/fire fortitude, and both Skarmory and Starmie have been thorns in my side. If anyone could stop laughing at me for five minutes, could you give me some advice? It would be appreciated...thnx!

First off, never use Evasion moves on NetBattle. People will hate you if you do. Otherwise fine.

Ninjask@Leftovers
Jolly Nature
Speed Boost

Baton Pass
Faint Attack Silver Wind
Substitute
Swords Dance

EV's: 252 Hp/6 Def/252 Spd

*This is my second line of BP. Hopefully, he comes in behind Smeargle's Substitute, and can get off at least two Sword Dances w/his natural Speed Boost. I had Quick Claw attached to it, until I learned that a lot of ppl don't take to kindly to that item...

Those EVs made me wanna puke. This bug will NEVER sustain a hit, so put all of it's EVs into Hp and Spd. Jolly for more speed. Silver Wind has a 10% chance of raising all stats.

Snorlax@Leftovers

Adamant Nature
Immunity

AmnesiaRest/Return
Curse
Earthquake/Return
Shadow Ball

EV's 252 Hp/252 Atk/6 SpDef

*My good ol' fashioned tank of sorts. I try to curse up a bit to set up Shadow Ball/EQ. I just added EQ about an hour ago in place of a useless HP Psychic. He tends to work out well, unless I come across a Skarmory or such...

Why do you add in SpAtk EVs?? Whatever. Return is his most reliable STAB move, so it's worth consideration.

Swampert@Leftovers

Adamant
Torrent

Earthquake
Surf Substitute
Ice Beam/Curse
Hidden Power (been going btw Flying and Electric...) Focus Punch

EV's 252 Hp/252 Atk/6 Def

*This guy is mainly to cover my *** when things start going bad, or to abuse a type matchup. I actually tried BPing to him once, and it def. caught the other person off guard. The whole HP flying thing was to take out Ludicolo and the HP Electric was for Skarmory/Starmie

This one's better. With 252 EVs in Hp, He'll get 101 Hp Subs to Punch Blisseys. Ice Beam or Curse could be used.

Vigoroth@Scope Lens

Naughty Nature
Vital Spirit

Earthquake
Shadow Ball
Slash
Hidden Power (Electric)

EV's Attack 93 | Defense 93 | Speed 103 | Sp. Atk 64 | Sp. Def 64 | HP 93

NO

Dodrio@Leftovers

Jolly Nature
Early Bird

Haze
Drill Peck
Torment
Return

EV's 252 Atk/252 Spd/6 SpDef
*Well, this guy is my hazer...but outside of that, I really don't know what purpose he actually serves :ohwell: I can't remember of the top of my head why I changed HP from Ground to Grass...maybe I will when I get back from class...

Dodrio is... Meh. But if you must....

Your smeargle EVs are ridiculously spread out. It won't be able to take too many hits, so speed and HP are really important. Zook's suggestions are good.

Ninjask will outspeed absolutely everything if you let it. Sub for a while, and if by some miracle your sub doesn't break, swords dance. The problem is, you don't have an ideal sweeper to baton pass to, although I guess your best bets are either Snorlax or Swampert.

Speaking of Snorlax, yours needs some work. His special defense is already high, so you don't need much. You want to max out his attack and HP. Curse will cover defense. Personally, curselax was my favorite in netbattle.

Yeah, uh, for swampert, just do what zook says.

Same goes for vigoroth.

You might want to find a more durable pokemon for your hazer. Personally, I like using weezing.
