Unclear title, I know.
I'm a person who doesn't own any GC controllers or Wii U adapters.
I don't mind this, so I use one of my Wii U Pro controllers or the gamepad.
And on these controllers, there's a right joystick and a left joystick...

Now, you can use the right joystick to charge up smash attacks and use it for aerial attacks.
However, you can also charge up smash attacks by using the left joystick and the a button at the same time. And, same with airs.
What do you guys prefer? What has the advantage? I try to use the left joystick and a because your thumb is always on the left joystick and you don't need to jump around the controller. But that's just what I prefer...
:happysheep: Thanks!

I use my Wii Remote and Nunchuk, same setup carried over from Brawl. I don't use the gamepad, nor do I have a GC Adapter either (I have GC controllers, but prefer not to use them). So I only have one "joystick" and that's the C-Stick on the Nunchuk (which follows protocol like in Brawl, using it to move around). I got used to the Wii Remote/Nunchuk setup after the countless hours of playing Brawl, so that's where I stand.

I'm slowly abandoning tap jump, and since my finger is always near X, the jump button, I can't ever make a big reach to the right joystick. Thus, I mostly use the left joystick + A button. I currently have the right joystick mapped to smash attacks just in case, but mapping it to tilts could be an option since I hardly ever use it anyway and it seems that a lot of techniques are either only possible or much easier with that setting. (I'm on Classic Controller Pro, but it's a similar layout to the Wii U Pro Controller.)

I used to be A + right for smashes, for I kepy doing tilts so I moved to right stick. Air attqcks I've always used the left.
