Richmond Kentucky Weekly (or bi-weekly) SmashFests+Rivals of Aether!

Hello fellow smashers! The past month or two I've been hosting smashfests at my place on Wednesday@ 6 with streaming, and usually get 3-5 people to come over. Unfortunately with such a small amount of players, if 1-2 people can't make it then it basically gets cancelled. I've reached out to the local facebook group and wanted to extend the invitation here to try to get a more solid attendance. If it grew into something bigger I'll look at a venue and maybe turning it into a cup. I definitely want to foster the local Melee/PM scene a bit and provide a chance for others (and myself) to get some good games in during the week (and record matches to review / capture hype moments)

I have 2 tv's, one wii (Melee/Project M), and a PC for streaming / playtesting Rivals of Aether (amazing game early in development, check it out!). My goal at the moment is to at least get 4-6 players each week on 2 setups, and maybe do something a little more special every other week (cup, money matches, etc.) Let me know if you're interested and I'll give you address / info!

P.S. If there is a better day of the week to host this, I'm open to changing it; let me know what works best for you

@ Xanthus The events being on wednesdays can sometimes be a deterrent to people who are bogged down with classes or work. If it gets a bit more popular then I have a full melee setup with a crt that I can bring regularly.

For anybody interested: what day of the week would work best? Thursday night is usually a pretty social night for people, and Friday I normally can't. Would Tuesday or Monday work better?

Bumping this for an Update: We are now doing this on Mondays @ 6, and this following Monday, whoever wins the round robin will get their melee singles fee paid for at my upcoming tournament (details TBA). On our active weeks we usually have 5 people, but still need more for when people can't make it! If you're interested, anybody is welcome, just message me for address / info! Come out and SMASH!
