2 questions:

1) I've noticed that when your character respawns on the cloud, they can be facing either left or right. I'm yet to notice a pattern in which way they face. Does anyone know why they face different directions?

2) What tricks or attacks do you do off the respawn cloud? With DK on Dreamland I always bair the furthest possible distance from the cloud and it reaches the edge of the top platform such that you can ledge cancle the bair. I always do another bair after it and then platform drop bair through the lower platform (which you obviously land on). It looks really cool. I've also seen Link players falling up-b, which also looks awesome. A few other characters can reach the edge of platforms on both Hyrule and Dreamland for ledge cancles. Taunt cancling also seems to be a popular one. What tricks/attacks do you do?

1) James actually answered that question in the 'Simple facts that you may not know' thread. It's determined by which way you're facing when you die.

2) I normally just run at them hoping to catch them while I still have invincibility frames, no time for fancy pants tricks xD. Probably not a good idea to chase them though, they can lead me into a counter. I used to do what Blackshadow recommended and do a couple of simple dairs - a mindless task that lets me think where I messed up during the last-stock and what I should do different.

But ultimately it's dependent on where they are at the time.

Link can reach the second wooden platform for a ledge cancel, as can falcon (?)

Take advantage of them invincibility frames. Miss a couple z-cancels on purpose if I feel like it.
