EDIT: I got it to work, go to comment 2 to see how I did it.

Hi,

Me and a friend would really like to play Project M together from our own homes. I know the wii servers are shut down and the Project M project was abandoned. But I heard it is still possible to play online. On the old Project M site there used to be a "Wifi Safe" project M version, but I can't find this anymore since their site was removed. Is it still possible to play Project M online? We both currently have homebrew version 3.6, but I wouldn't mind downgrading in order to play online. I run Project M using a Brawl iso on USBloader GX.

Thanks in advance,
Tipsi

I don't think it's possible with an ISO, but with a disc a friend and I have been playing it. 3.6 works, and it is secretly bundles with the wifi safe version! I used the wiimmfi patcher (homebrew app that automatically patches the disc that's in), and the hackless Project M 3.6 version (stage builder exploit). To make it wifi safe, just follow this vid. If you don't know where to download PM btw, look up Project Mirror. :kirbymelee:

Thanks for the reply. I already managed to do it so it is in fact possible. I used the wiimmfi patcher from here to patch the brawl iso. Then I put the iso on the USB device. Then I downloaded Project M 3.5 Wifi Safe Hackless version (I didn't know you could play online on 3.6 as well) and installed it on my SD card. I then simply launched PM and went to online mode and I was able to find and play with my friend who followed the same steps.

Note that you need the hackless version of PM to be able to play PM using a brawl iso and USBloader GX even though you would expect the homebrew version.
