Reskin characters without homebrew?

I'm wondering if I am able to reskin characters in PM with just the normal PM on my wii. PM has it's own custom skins so I would assume you are able to just put them on the SD card?

Also, how do I create my own skins? I want to make Ivysaur the same colors as the Gravemind from Halo 2, and I'm assuming I would have to do this myself. Unless of course someone has done that already in which case send me a link to download.

TBH, once you start going deeper into the modding scene, you'll start to dislike the brawl managers, since they work best with vanilla P:M builds.

This. The Brawl Managers work for sure, they're definitely useful for beginners, especially if you aren't interested in doing anything more than the most basic stuff (skins, stages, etc.). But moving past that, I highly recommend you familiarize yourself with modding sans-managers. It's not that complicated, and the better grasp you'll get over the files themselves will make you realize just how much you can really do with Brawl mods. Customizing your game goes so much deeper than costumes and stages, you just need to be willing to learn.

Ok, so where do the brawl managers start to get annoying? I don't even know what I would do to PM besides skins and maybe some new characters. I won't be changing any character's move sets or anything. I like to play tournaments so I don't want to **** up my PM too much.

Heh. Few people mess with the actual movesets of characters. It starts off with some skin you like, then some stage you like or some songs you like. Then you realise that you don't want to replace anything and then you get into the real stuff.
