I heard somewhere that matches between friends keeps rankings,
but not on the with anyone mode.

So, there's still some incentive there to disconnect if you're about to lose!

What if, there was incentive NOT to do it?

Introducing...

Disconnecti the Mole

It'd be a completely awesome way to stop disconnecters, but I'm sure
Nintendo aren't thinking on my wavelength.

He could do awesome things like threated to delete your records
if you don't promise never to do it again, and if you do it a 2nd time
he could actually DO IT!:laugh::laugh:

Mr. Disconnecti for Brawl. Discuss. :lick:

Interesting idea. I don't think you could implement it though, because there is no way to tell how a player disconnected. For example you couldn't tell if a player turned his Wii off or if he had a power failure. I'd hate to have two power failures and lose my stuff.

Awesome idea though. /hate disconnecters

100% awesome idea. unless you get disconnected accidentally twice and your records are deleted. but he should be in for the lecturing part, definitely. too bad there is less than a small chance.

lol. This is funny, but i actually think the answer is simple, if someone disconnects, a computer character takes over for the rest of the match. If the computer wins, the disconnecter AND the other person does not receive any change in rank, if the human wins, then the disconnecter receives a loss and the other player receives a win. This means that if you think their disconnection was unintentional (aka they were up by 2 stocks when they DCed) then you could jump off the edge a few times and call it even.

The thing is that nintendo is worried that it will upset people with crappy connections. In my opinion, something that would cause people with bad connections not to play would be a GOOD thing. i dont like wasting my time in laggy *** games and then they DC halfway thru.

they actually have something like that in madden 08(wii) when someone disconnects u get an option to continue playin against a computer and if im not mistaken at the end u can choose wether to count the game or not. also there is a percentage thingy on ur profile that keeps track of how many time u disconect and then shows it like in disconect ratio 100% or 25%% so that ur opponent already nows wether u havev a history of dissconteting
