Replacing characters

How can I replace Lucas with Shadow(a character I have that's similar to Sonic, obviously).

I want Shadow in Brawl, but I don't want to have to override Sonic. I'd rather override Lucas instead

You won't be able to replace a character with a character not designed for that character.

There was PW's alternate file loader, but that wasn't finished and PW left the Smash hack scene.

There was also talks of .rel files for characters allowing you to switch characters around but nothing productive came out of it.

Link to the file please. I want to make sure your not talking about a texture instead of a PSA.

And now I wait for Kitamerby or Chuy to come and make a fool out of me cause I'm wrong.

Can you replace an alloy with Shadow? (I'll get the link as soon as I can find it)

You can if Shadow is designed to go over that alloy. Which is possible. Most import characters are based around alloys since they make great extra characters if you don't use Multi Man Brawl.

Actually, it's possible, but really hard to do and sometimes impossible.

If you've ever seen ds22's port of Cloud over DK, it's the same thing you're talking about here.

First, you'd have to make sure that the Shadow texture works over Lucas. This place should help you with that.

Afterwards, you'd have to make a lot of edits to the PSA yourself to make it so that it references the right GFX's and whatnot and change the character specific stuff accordingly.

So, yes, it's possible, but it's hard.

Alright, how can I tell if shadow IS desgined over that alloy (fail)

You can open his .pac or .pcs with BrawlBox, and see what it says (if it's for Sonic it'll probably say FitSonic00 or something.)
Alternately, you could post a link for us to look at.
