Removing controller lag?

Recently I learned that there is a 7 frame delay between inputs on the wiiu version of smash 4; a sort of counterbalance in order to keep every controller option even in game. However, a friend of mine told me that there's an option to turn off said delay on the 3ds version so that every command starts up without delay (Actually, when I fight AIs in the wiiu version they don't seem to have this delay either). I've looked everywhere on the menu but I can't find this option on the wiiu, is it just not a thing or am I missing it?

Impossible on Wii U. I don't know if it's allowed on 3DS, but it should be possible. AIs in both versions also are lag-free.

Wii U controllers have to communicate with a console. This process is not instant, though it is fast. These 7 frames of lag are unavoidable on Wii U (or probably any console for that matter).

On the 3DS (or any other handheld), inputs can be registered instantly because the controls are directly connected to the processor.

AIs are lagless, because they also do not have to communicate with the console, due to the inputs being created from the console.

I looked into this sort of thing while I was playing COD. A wired controller is about 1/200th of a second faster at registering than a wireless controller. In other words, very little difference.

Internet connection between all participants makes much more of a difference.

Just gonna say this one more time. Zard flamethrower is one tier above bowser's.

Good bowsers don't use flamebreath much at all. On the other hand, good zard players use flamethrower all the time as it is one of zard's best utility moves. It allows safe landing against a grounded approach, easy edgeguarding against a lot of recoveries, especially against characters like DK, Ness/Lucas, Rob, Falcon, Cloud, Little Mac. And it can cover every ledge option against most characters.

Bowser's flamebreath doesn't serve nearly as much utility as flamethrower.

Either bump Zard up to B, or drop Bowser's to D.

Was it Drift0r's video?
IIRC his video also made an important note that the battery level of your wireless controller can affect the input delay. It's something to be wary about. Atleast the Pro Controller's battery basically lasts forever.

Um, wrong thread? lol

How does wireless controller battery effect the input delay? If the voltage is the cause, the battery should be outputting the same voltage until it gets low enough to NEED a charge.

I haven't got an idea. I watched the video some 4 years ago, by this point, I think (wow, it's been that long?)
The closest I found was this one, but in a much older video, I think he actually had comparisons:
