Remember the symbol theory?

I remember a while back there was a theory that the character symbols(Star for Kirby; Earth for Earthbound) were listed in some alphabetized order. Has anybody taken this further? I'm pretty sure there was one new symbol since that time, right? I forget the pattern that it was. Would the list be easier to fill ing now that there are more characters?

Yeah, the numbered theory is legit and confirms Game and Watch if you ask me, but the alphabetical theory is totally flawed.

I don't think that there is any patterns in the updates. He just puts them in as he pleases.

Not the updates... the symbols, like I mentioned in my first post. And yeah, I was actually referring to the number theory. Like the DK symbol being the second symbol(after the smash symbol) would be the game name to first appear in the alphabet, right? Then it goes through the alphabet.

Yes, and it was disproven after the Pictochat update.

I think it's very plausible, but some parts of the theory discomfort me . There is only one icon spot in between pit's and sonic's, which is near the end of the alphabet and could mean fewer total franchises. Then again there is a possibility that the alphabetical order could restart (or has already with the DS symbol, but I don't see WHY it would, unfortunately

That's because Sakurai somehow found out about the theory and he was like "Oh crap time to prove them wrong."

Or maybe just Flatzone is returning. I don't think it's likely that Game&Watch's stage would return without Game&Watch, but if Pictochat has anything to tell us it's that symbols don't need to always go with a character.
