remapping gc controller

I am considering remapping my controls for ness and since I will basically have to go through another learning curve on controls, was wondering if anyone has anything to add/different that makes maneuvering with ness easier.

L - shield
R - grab
Z - jump

A - attack
B - special
X - jump
Y - shield

c-stick - attack

d.pad - taunts

analog stick - analog stick

tap jump - off

Z as a jump to free my thumb from X so it can go to C-stick. then C-stick frees my analog stick for DI. I know its doable without but why make it harder on myself -_-
also lets me do jump(Z) + specials(B) with different fingers.

Y for a nicer button for perfect shields, also easy access to A.
R is just there, I don't use R in brawl. So I put grab there just so "it has a place"...

thx for any input you guys can add ^^

Mine is

C-stick: Special for b-sticking and auto RAR

Z: Attack for a quicker auto RAR. Going from the C-stick to the A button is too much for my poor thumb. Also, I used Z to DJC in Melee, so I am accustomed to it being an attack. But in brawl, Z in the air bby default makes you dodge, not attack, so I had to change it.

Y: Grab cuz I needed to put grab somewhere other than Z and it had to be a button that substitutes for another one (y'know, Y = X) thats easy to access and is fast. I tried R, but it wasnt quick enough.

I keep tap jump on because thats the only way to usmsash out of the shield without having to release shield first. Its much quicker. And dont even mention pressing X or Y before the smash, thats just plain rediculous.

Yeah, but that makes Uair that much harder. surely there are other things you can do out of a shield.
I don't have any problem with A auto-RAR.
Is there any setting that will make an Attack in midair like Melee? I like my Zgrab and want to multitask.

Well, uair near the ground is no longer a problem for me since Ness' usmash seems to replace it. IMO, a shuffled or DJCed uair in Mele was like his pseudo usmash, but now since the yo-yo has such lovely knockback and range, with a priority bonus and decent speed, I find uairing near the ground not as crucial to Ness' game.

And well... if u can deal with A and auto RAR, thats great for you, but I need Z.

Unfortunately, if Z is set to grab, it airdodges in this game. In melee, grabbing in the air lead to an attack, but now, the "shield" function outprioritizes the attack part of the grab :(

lol

My control scheme is the same, except the Y button is shield, or maybe it's X, I dunno. I occasionally B-stick.

I was totally frustrated that they made Z a dodge in the air.

Z - attack
X - grab
I had to switch Z to attack (so now, I have to grab with the X button).

And is there any way to switch the way a button acts in the air? (Instead of both in the air and on the ground.)

Hmm,

I thought I read somewhere everything is doable OOS now?
If not I guess its Z+C-stick or nothing in my controls since I really hate tap jump when I just want to u-tilt/u-air/ up-b ::lack of finger dexterity::

Also what do you B-stick for ness?

=====ON topic=====

Well thx to Earthbounder360, I realized an oversight on my part 'thumb going from C-stick to A'.
I guess I will make 'R' attack for those things that just can't wait for my thumb to move back to A and vice versa.

Now, I am missing a grab button but I am pretty sure I can get away with Y+A unless you guys tell me theres extra lag just because the way it is~

Thx all.
Everyone seems to like Z as attack; guess it is to be expected transition from melee.

Please feel free to add anything else, even if its brainstorming ideas and completely funky settings. It might open other ideas.

===My current change choices===

R = attack
Y = shield
Z = jump

Well, like I said, Needing utilts and uairs are no longer crucial due to the major buff the yo-yo recieved.
Up+B should be no problem though since the window of pressing B before you jump seems larger now than in Melee. Also, I hardly see any drawback in jumping before PKTing.

I B-stick PK Fire a lot, especially off the edge. In a basic on stage match, its not as useful as Lucas', but you can double jump forward and b-stick back. This gives you nice range for a dash attack.

On the edge though, its better to b-stick. You edge jump (just a basic jump) and hold forward as you get off. Then, B-stick back. You should launch PK Fire down at the stage getting edgeguarders away and putting you back on the edge allowing you to repeat if you missed or make a safe recovery.

If I were to change my controller configuration the only thing I would probably change is make the x button shield.
