.rel questions

So I recall putting a battlefield rel over jungle japes or onett or something, and it came out with invisible platforms and base, but the background was showing. I also recall putting a battlefield on warioware, and there were same results.

So, why does this happen? Do certain stages need to have similar structure/file size to be replaced onto another? Smashville is one of my top priorities to have more of. What kind of stages are able to be replaced by smashville?

It sounds like either the .rel works and the .PAC doesn't, or the other way around. Such mismatches don't always cause freezing; sometimes they just make the stage behave oddly.

Oh, well it may have been faulty .rel switching I guess. Just making sure, every stage can switch with every stage correctly?

Every stage I've tried works. The only exception I've found is that the Mario Bros. stage/.rel doesn't seem to work when converted to one of the st_custom#.rels for PW's code. But that shouldn't be a problem.
