Region Locked?

Seeing as how the amiibos themselves are region-free it's most likely that the NFC reader would be region-free as well. I could be wrong but it seems likely.

One more thing to add: will this be able to be used on multiple systems at once? For example, register it to mine and read an amiibo, but then connect it to another 3ds without erasing data to add amiibo?

I assume you can use it on multiple systems but we'll just have to wait and see once it releases in Japan first at the end of this month.

I would normally assume it's region-free. If amiibo figures themselves are region-free, why not this?

I just found out that it CAN be used on more than one 3ds console, and it IS region locked.

Good to know. I'm saving up money for a New 3DS XL, so I probably won't need to get the adapter unless I want to use my old 3DS again.
