Hi, I am just inquiring to see if the official Project M Launcher Homebrew app will play a NTSC disc on a PAL Wii.
I am aware that there are Homebrew apps that will play an NTSC disc and load the codes to play PM, but I really want to know if it will just work using the launcher so there is less mucking around.

I do not require an urgent answer as I currently play PM on my old Wii with a broken disc drive via USB Loading, just want to know this because I am considering buying an NTSC SSBB disc and using it on my working Wii.

I believe it is possible only if you hack your Wii. That being said you're probably going to have to use homebrew.

@ Narpas_sword Narpas_sword I currently use USB Loader GX on my Wii with a broken disc drive, but this is unrelated to the question I asked.
@ Y-L Y-L The first post makes it clear that I am using Homebrew already.

The only thing I need to know is; Will the Official Project M Launcher Homebrew Application launch an NTSC SSBB disc on a PAL Wii, or if Gecko has to be used to load an NTSC SSBB, with codes enabled as to load PM, on a PAL Wii.

As I said, I have 2 Wiis, one with a broken disc drive and one with a working one. I want to know for my Wii with a working disc drive. I wish to do this for 2 reason, one I am giving the USB loading only Wii to a friend after I get an NTSC disc, and two so that I actually am playing a legal copy of the game (I am pretty sure having an NTSC ISO is still considered piracy if you only own a PAL disc).

Please no more comments unless they are answering the question at hand; Will the Official Project M Launcher Homebrew Application launch an NTSC SSBB disc on a PAL Wii, or if Gecko has to be used to load an NTSC SSBB, with codes enabled as to load PM, on a PAL Wii?

EDIT: Never mind, I'll just buy a NTSC disc and try it myself, if the Launcher doesn't work I still have Gecko I can use.

I have a similar question. I have a PAL console and I do not want to hack it to read illegal copies. I mean, I have it with HomeBrew channel for some useful things (such as Riivolution or a free-loader called Gecko). So, could I put a legal Brawl DVD in my PAL Wii, run it with Gecko and then run Project M? Is it possible?

To answer both @ UpsilonFox UpsilonFox and @ QuickRat QuickRat 's questions, an NTSC Brawl disc can be run through the Project M and Gecko Launchers respectively, but with homebrew and the appropriate cIOS' installed to allow cross-region compatibility through discs. However, it's much less complicated and annoying to load the ISO off a USB Loader with cheats enabled and it's perfectly legal as long as you own the Brawl disc. I strongly advise you follow that option.
