Hello! First post play project M with friends long time lurker blah blah blah yada yada yada. Has question!

Whilst playing with friends(I'm usually using charizard or wolf) I often get one if them into some ridiculous juggles. So much so where he seemingly can't get out of them. The big gripe I see him having is regaining composure in the air. I don't know what the official term is but you know when you're knocked into the air and all you can do Is D.I.? You can't attack or dodge immediately you're helpless.was wondering how you can, if you can, reduce that "lack of composure" as I'll call it. Is the only option to learn how to D.I. Better? Or are there options out of it?

I understand this is probably both a noob ish question, and situational one so if you don't understand the question I'll do my best to give an example of a situation and the desired effect.

That "lack of composure" you're referring to is called hitstun, and a lack thereof is one of the primary complaints against Brawl. Project M intentionally has more hitstun, and the solution is indeed to DI better.

I believe if you're at a low percent, you can mash inputs to get out of hitstun earlier, but not by a huge margin. You also cannot airdodge out of either hitstun or tumble, compared to Brawl where you could airdofge immediately after being hit.

Does mashing the stick side to side technically let you out sooner, or is it just done so you cancel the tumbling animation into a normal aerial state as soon as possible? I guess what I am asking is, if you knew the exact timing for doing actions out of hitstun, would mashing make any difference for when you actually get out?

But it doesn't actually shorten your overall time that you are stunned and optionless, right? That is the specific detail im concerned with. It's just a method of acting as soon as possible with all available options?
