I'm currently making a community matchup chart on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/smashbros/comments/3jrrc8/lets_make_a_matchup_chart_together/

This isn't meant to be anything definitive, of course, and more than likely it's going to be a disaster, but it still will be nice to see.

Here's a link to the poll if you want to cut out the reddit middleman: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/16NqGvOFUaDXdvKpVVm3lhPFkzSXpN6aF41s6rdQB6n0/viewform?usp=send_form

I will cross-post the results here once they happen.

Yes it's going to be a disaster. But it will be a fun disaster.

It will have no competitive value tho.

why specifically a reddit one?
Because... I originally posted on reddit?

I was mostly trying to make it clear that this isn't any official matchup chart, rather, it's a community-made one. Much like reddit's tier lists.

The main use of a matchup chart is that with one swift look you can see what are your character's good and bad matchups.

The problem with a community driven matchup chart (especially on reddit) is that 99% of people don't know what they're talking about. So your results have 1% guaranteed accuracy and 99% randomness.

And I'm sorry to say it so bluntly but reddit's tier list has no use except for making fun of reddit.

The main point of this is to be a fun disaster with little to no competitive value. So that's par for the course for reddit.

That being said, the results don't seem so bad so far. See, the way the poll's set up, you have to pick a character first, then list the matchups for that character. Meaning most people probably went for their mains. Most people know who their mains match up with to some extent (at least for the tournament common characters. for the rest I guess you'd have fought them in for glory & tourney mode, which is better than nothing), so the matchups are at least DECENTLY well made.

It's not COMPLETELY random, is what I'm saying. Maybe 10% accuracy.

Since this isn't really going to end up in much of a competitive nature, I have moved it to this board.

Carry on.
