This isn't a bug because it was working at one point when I got Project M so I figured I shouldn't post it in bug reporting.

And at first I thought it was just a problem with the costumes I have tried to give Sonic (Which were a Metal Sonic, and a Sonic in Mario's clothes alternate costumes). But it seems even ones that should work have this problem. Where the red Sonic in particular does not have an idle animation and is instead in the T-pose. It's weird because it's only for this particular slot. All the other Sonic's are fine. But for some reason when I pick Sonic's slot in which would be red if say I was doing a doubles match. It has the no idle animation. Does anyone know what I may have done wrong to cause this and how to fix it please?

Problem solving 101.

What have you changed /modded /replaced from the original PM?
In terms of Sonic. I tried replacing the normal Red Sonic slot from normal Project M with some skins I found on Brawl Vault. But for some reason the idle animation doesn't show with these skins. I haven't tried seeing if I put back the original Red Sonic and see if that makes a difference. I might try that tonight and see if it still does the T Pose. Because for all I know for some reason the slot may just not take custom skins for some reason or another (Which would be weird considering I've changed the rest of Sonic slots to something at least slightly different and they work perfectly fine)

Ive noticed Sonic has issues with effectys when replacing and switching happens. Its better to just add slots with Cbliss. Backup to your old build like Narpas said, and then download cbliss to add slots to the characters.

I managed to fix it actually. Turns out it was just some sort of problem with wither the FitSonic file and/or the FitSonicMotionEtc file because I replaced both with the original Project M versions of the files and now Red Sonic works fine.

So problem solved ^^ Any moderators here, feel free to lock.
