Recording device?

I've always wanted to get a capture device to record video directly from consoles, but I don't know which one I should get. Like most electronics these days, there's a million different choices.

Are there any particularly good ones, for a decent price? Just looking for something that'll record at least 720p, for under $150.

Are you just going to be recording video, or are you streaming? Depending on what you plan to do changes your choices for capture cards. (For example, an Elgato capture card is good for recording, but has problems when streaming.)

No streaming, just video capture. Because I can't seem to get any decent quality when recording the TV with a camera. :p

I'd hope you weren't just pointing a TV at the screen and recording like that...

Anyways, as I mentioned earlier, I've heard good things about the elgato. I'd look around a bit more, but it seems like a soild choice.

Also, you'll likely need a microphone. Please don't get the cheapest you can find, look around for one that has good reviews.
