Hey guys, me and my friends run Land of the Free, a set of weekly tournaments in Lewiston, Idaho.
We use a custom stage list with our own rule set (Like most Project M tournaments do) and have a custom common5 stage select screen to show which of our stages are starters/ counterpicks / banned.
Previously we had someone else do our custom common5, whom designed all the custom frames and everything that went into it. We rotated the stagelist recently, and he made a new one, this time, he didn't exactly do the job we wanted, so I took it upon myself to try and tweak this common5 to what we want.
As a pM modding newbie, this has proven difficult for me. So far I have ordered the stages how I want in SSS editor. Frigate Orpheon is one of our counterpicks, and as you may know that is on page two of the SSS. I remedied this through switching MARIOPAST.pac (Metal Cavern), and ORPHEON.pac (Frigate Orpheon) in the SSS editor.
The preview page looks something like this:

I exported this SSS as both a .gct and a .txt file, but I for the life of me cannot apply it to a common5. I have not been able to find I guide that helps me for this situation, and as a modding newcomer, I have no sense of what exactly I am doing. I was hoping to get some advice/guidance on how to do this. Thanks in advance!

i havent used it, but im pretty sure its not a common5 thing.

you need to generate the gct, then use the gct editor tool to combine it with your normal gct.

Perhaps I was going about this the wrong way! I will try that. Thanks very much for your input.

I ended up fusing the SSS editor code with the RSBE01.gct, like you said. In order to do what I wanted to accomplish, it took both a common5 and a gct edit to make it work. The common5 is what gives the icons their portraits and tells the game what to associate the icons with as far as .rel and .pac files go. Long story short, I got it all working and I have your small input to thank for it. Thank you!
