Read-only Backroom?

I was just wondering, why is the Backroom view-protected? I know that you want to keep intelligent conversation in the Backroom, but why not just make the Backroom read-only to general members? If the Backroom is read-only, everyone can form their own ideas from the different viewpoints given by Broomers.

The reason the Backroom and Smash Backroom are not viewable to members is because people would discuss their content outside of the backroom, which would kind of eliminate the point of them being a privilege to post in. The Backroom may contain information that some would consider personal, and it would be kind of an invasion of privacy and definitely detrimental to the room to make it viewable by the general user base.
