The first new character to be revealed since the first trailer has caused quite a stir. Many people are upset at the surprise being "spoiled", and others are wondering why he chose to reveal a new character.
I shall deal with the second point first.
The updates do have a minor, if slightly unintelligable pattern. One noticable factor of this pattern is the manner of character updates. There is, on average, one character a week, with every third week revealing a newcomer. Expect a newcomer three weeks from now.
Second: This is a video game, not harry potter or a movie with a twist. We all know franchises will be represented. It's simply a matter of knowing which. Why come to a site filled with speculation about the new game if you're not going to embrace the information?
In my eyes, a major update on the game would be more shocking than a character revelation. I find the storyline to be a bigger spoiler. Assist trophies are spoilers. Hell, revealing deoxys as a pokeball pokemon was just as much a spoiler as revealing playables--many people thought deoxys was a shoe-in.
There's a bit too much complaining on these boards for my tastes. These are not spoilers.
