After playing some stages with walls recently I have with disappointment remembered why they are banned (PS1 exception). The answer is to prevent infinites, however, if the way KB is handled when characters touch walls in hit-stun was altered this might not be the case anymore.
Right now (by my understanding) you must hit the wall hard enough in order to tech it otherwise you simply bounce off or drop as the case is with lower kb.
If whenever you touch a wall while in hit-stun your character always bounced a minimum distance (while invincible but helpless), and if the direction you fly could be DI'd infinites might be removed. This would be a new DI much like changing the vector from hit-stun, but this time the vector is determined by the angle you hit the wall traveling with (the sakurai angle could be applied to low KB but with the minimum requirement means that it would always be 45 degrees).
I know this wold also change stage spikes and I don't know if this is even possible but I wanted to share it and see what people think.
