I have Evil Empire. This is pretty cool.

Are they making a new record, or planning a tour afterwards?
Or is it just the one show?

If you read the article it's a one show thing.

Rage Against the Machine hit me when I was a teenager so I really loved their music. I got all their albums.

Audioslave, however, is really a great band that I don't want to see disbanded for a 7 year old political powerhouse.

I'd much rather see audio slave die at the expense of RATM.

sadly it is (for now at least :D ) only one show.

man I hope they get back together and start up again. that would be sooooo very awesome.

I love Rage, and i'd love to see them back together, but not at the expense of Audioslave. I guess as long as Tom Morello is still alive it's all good.

Rage wasn't just a band, it was a movement. But, you can't ride that wave forever. I don't want to see 40+ year old guys protesting and such like they used to, it doesn't work for them anymore. Rage was a very cult based group. Their few mainstream hits were some of their least politically motivated stuff. Audioslave, on the other hand, has seen pretty decent amounts of commercial success. I just don't want them to tarnish what was probably one of the best bands of the 90s as Stones, Aerosmith, Clapton, and other bands that stayed around too long.

I prefer Audioslave to Rage Against the Machine. I'm not too surprised by this as Cornell did release at least one solo track I know of (Song for Casino Royale) and RATM getting back together was something that seemed almost inevitable. I remember hearing something about it ages ago. If it is just one show I can't imagine Audioslave being left behind. Hurrah.
