My first special sweeper on this team. If they send in a ghost, either I use Signal beam, or if its time for a change, I use Darkrai.

~Focus Blast
My favorite. A nice, diverse movepool, and spread EVs. I know he is a Uber, but its a mixed tier team.

I like the EV spread and it can counter some weaknesses. He is my lure poke.

A tank. Deal the damage, the maybe switch out with U-turn.

Has a big ice weakness, but covers some of mine. He is basicly a mixed sweeper.

Mainly a sweeper, but also an annoyer with substitute.

This team would do okay in Ubers, Dragonite wouldn't, though, simply due to all the ice attacks. Also I would replace Psychic on Alakazam for HP Ice.

You wouldn't have to change anything to do good in OU (Darkrai's removal aside) as this team is very well put together, judging off of their movesets and EVs alone.

Keep in mind that if you do play competitively you would have to change your items due to Item Clause.

Assuming you are playing in OU with only 5 Pokemon:

Trick Choice Scarf on Alakazam is a very potent lead. That or Focus Sash. 90% of leads carry a physical attack, which OHKOs you. Metagross, Aerodactyl, Swampert, etc.. Calm Mind on someone as fragile as Alakazam is a bad idea. HP Fire or HP Ice is almost required on Zam. Fire hits Steels that wall you (the common Metagross and Forretress leads), while Ice hits plenty of Dragons.

Fire Blast > Flamethrower on most leads. HP Ice hits other Dragons that might carry Ice Beam. Outrage is a good idea, if you used Draco Meteor and your SpAtk is crap.

If you're playing Platinum, Hypnosis has stupidly crappy accuracy. One thing you could try:

Levitate / Hasty
100 Atk / 156 SpA / 252 Spe
Substitute
Focus Punch
Shadow Ball
HP Fire / Explosion

A decent team. A bit outdated, IMO.

Not sure what you meant with this. All I was saying is that he had two pokemon with Life Orbs and two pokemon with Choice Bands, something you can't do in a competitive battle. Sorry if I was misunderstood.

Doesn't battle tower ban darkrai? I know cresselia/heatren are allowed but I'm almost certain darkrai is banned.

Either way though, he wouldn't be allowed to use this team in OU OR battle tower.
