This is one of many shoddy teams of mine. I've been trying to wean myself away from defensive teams, but all attempts have been massively unsuccessful. It's done very well for me so far, but getting some outside opinions is never bad, and I just love posting these as is.
Ground weak pokemon + flyers/levitators = win.

Metagross @ Life Orb
Trait: Clear Body
252 Atk / 188 Spd / 70 SAtk
Naughty Nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- HP [Fire]
- Grass Knot
- Earthquake
- Meteor Mash

Swampert/Skarmory weak Metagrosses are so yesterday.
Hits 222 Spd, which outspeeds Adamant Tyranitar.

Salamence @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
252 HP / 236 Def / 20 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Protect
- Dragon Claw
- Wish

Wishmence is awesome. This already bulky team virtually never dies thanks to this guy. Was thinking of putting Toxic over Earthquake but it seems a bit redundant with Toxic Spikes around, and steels would wall this guy bad without it.

Heatran @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
110 HP / 252 SAtk / 148 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Fire Blast
- Metal Sound
- Earth Power
- HP [Grass]

Obligatory Heatran. Metal Sound Fire Blast 2HKOs Cress and Blissey with ease.
HP [Grass] for Swampert and Earth Power for other Heatran trying to get in.

Empoleon @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
252 HP / 46 SAtk / 212 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- HP [Electric]
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Surf

It wins. HP [Electric] for my Gyara weak, hoping that they're sticking to the bland Return/Waterfall or Stone Edge/Waterfall sets.

Cresselia @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
204 HP / 200 Def / 104 SAtk
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- HP [Ground]
- Moonlight
- Ice Beam
- Psychic

lols at Heatran and Magnezone and all variations of Infernape as well as any grounds or dragons that are unlucky enough to be out against this thing.

Drapion @ Black Sludge
Trait: Battle Armor
252 HP / 80 Atk / 178 Def
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Toxic Spikes
- Brick Break
- Night Slash
- Whirlwind

Underrated spiker. Fight/Dark is virtually unresisted, and hurts Bliss and Cress bad.

Ah. It seems like wii have another new trainer at the Poke Center. Hello, thar.

Not neccessarily...

Metagross @ Life Orb
Trait: Clear Body
252 Atk / 188 Spd / 70 SAtk
Naughty Nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- HP [Fire]
- Grass Knot
- Earthquake
- Meteor Mash

Swampert/Skarmory weak Metagrosses are so yesterday.
Hits 222 Spd, which outspeeds Adamant Tyranitar.

You could go for 224 Speed to outspeed BulkyGyara and give it HP Electric.

Salamence @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
252 HP / 236 Def / 20 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Protect
- Dragon Claw
- Wish

Wishmence is awesome. This already bulky team virtually never dies thanks to this guy. Was thinking of putting Toxic over Earthquake but it seems a bit redundant with Toxic Spikes around, and steels would wall this guy bad without it.

Good.

Heatran @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
110 HP / 252 SAtk / 148 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Fire Blast
- Metal Sound
- Earth Power
- HP [Grass]

Obligatory Heatran. Metal Sound Fire Blast 2HKOs Cress and Blissey with ease.
HP [Grass] for Swampert and Earth Power for other Heatran trying to get in.

Clever...

Empoleon @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
252 HP / 46 SAtk / 212 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- HP [Electric]
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Surf

It wins. HP [Electric] for my Gyara weak, hoping that they're sticking to the bland Return/Waterfall or Stone Edge/Waterfall sets.

Or Waterfall / Ice Fang. ;)

Cresselia @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
204 HP / 200 Def / 104 SAtk
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- HP [Ground]
- Moonlight
- Ice Beam
- Psychic

lols at Heatran and Magnezone and all variations of Infernape as well as any grounds or dragons that are unlucky enough to be out against this thing.

Consider Thunder Wave over HP Ground.

Drapion @ Black Sludge
Trait: Battle Armor
252 HP / 80 Atk / 178 Def
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Toxic Spikes
- Brick Break
- Night Slash
- Whirlwind

Underrated spiker. Fight/Dark is virtually unresisted, and hurts Bliss and Cress bad.

Good. Just watch out for Heracross.
Now, about that EQ weak + Flying poke thing... In this case, you're Tyranitar meat. The typical DDtar:

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Sand Stream
Jolly
6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
- Dragon Dance
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Earthquake

...can destroy this team. Stone Edge and Crunch KO your only 2 flying types, while the rest of your Pokes will die to EQ.

Until wii meet again,

Why hello there. I've been hanging around Smogon for a while and realized I hadn't yet made an account here, so here I am.

Onto the team:

Standard DDTar only runs Jolly on rare occasions, seeing as how 332 Spd already outruns neutral base 100s. Also, a Dragon Danced Earthquake from max Atk Jolly Tyranitar can't even OHKO Meta on average.
Also, Jolly Tyranitar's Stone Edge only does 72.84% - 85.53% to Mence (factoring the cancellation of Dragon Dance's boost by Intimidate). Heck, even with Adamant it does 79.70% - 93.91%, whilst Mence stalls out the poor guy.

I will admit though, that if I predict wrong with this team, DDTar will eat it up in quick portions.
This is actually the second ground weak+levitator basis team I've used, and in retrospect, all teams minus Machamp, Hariyama or Intimidating bulky Hitmontop are some form of Tyranitar weak.

Why a split sweeping 'Gross?

Interesting, you'll need Fire Fang to rid Steel types.

Looks good. Haven't seen a Empoleon user in a while.

well, he does have cressy with HP ground...but how many crunch's can that thing take...

try scarfing heatran...it might be able to help against ttar, not saying it's great...but it might be able to help

but really, you need something to counter ttar

you could use staraptor

Staraptor@focus sash
Intimidate
Jolly
252/252/6 (ATK/SPD/HP)
Return/Frustration
Brave Bird
Close Combat
U-turn/Pursuit

basically, return/frustration for stab, brave bird for stab, close combat to take out rocks

u-turn is preferred but pursuit is an option

you can also scarf him...but i don' think it'll be necessary, and if you do scarf it, go pursuit of u-turn

@Terywj: Split sweeping Meta beats Swampert, Skarmory, Hippo, Donphan and all other common counters.

Ground is super effective against steels, for the record. Sure it can't hit Skarm, but what'll Skarm do once Heatran comes out?
Yeah Empoleon is quite the underrated pokemon. Steel resists + water resist and fire neutral is awesome.

@mood: Staraptor can't counter Tyranitar, really. It's not that bulky and can't come in on Crunch or Stone Edge, making it a fairly unreliable counter. In a one on one matchup, Raptor would wreck Tyranitar beyond repair, but as far as switching in goes...no dice, really ;__;

As I stated before, any team without bulky Machamp, Hariyama or bulky Intimidating Hitmontop is weak to some variation of Tyranitar.

Thank you all very much though, for giving your input and welcoming me here. I'm gonna try to get my better teams up soon for all of ya.

By the way, without Jolly on Tyranitar, it loses to base 110's after a DD, but with Jolly Beats them.
But anyway, as everyone's already mentioned, u have a big DD Yranitar weakness-Big deal. The most common variation has Taunt over Stone Edge, so u can still beat it with Salamence. One of the most respected members on this board foregos EQ altogether for Taunt cuz of the Dual stab. If that's the case, Metagross has a chance of beating it.
Speaking of Metagross, why don't you give it a little more speed to reach 244, therefore beating all these Jolly Tyraniars we keep telling you about.
The WishMence is good, I've tried him and he's really underrated.
The Heatran wants Stealth Rock over HP Grass, especialy with that Defensive spread.
Everything else is good.
Also, I see a Scarf or Band Chomp running through this team. Altogether, Garchomp can wreck this team.

that's why i put focus sash on it

after one DD, what base speed does ttar outrun?

i think staraptor can still outrun it

Wishmence is not ******** =/ Wishmence is a very large pain to take out without unpredictable HP [Ice] users.

Not many gaping holes I can see at the moment... If Cress is gone, EQ/Ice Fang Gyara is problematic. Mixed Lucario with EQ and HP [Ice] might be a little trouble, but nothing much really. Life Orb should kill itself before it's done too much, and it's really too slow to be too much of a threat. Hmm not much else I can say, actually. I'd use less SpAtk on Metagross though. You'll be killing Swampert with less and can't one shot Donphan or Hippowdon anyway. More HP would be nice.
