u get a 3 simply because u know the f-air to d-smash combo and pill to d-smash (which werent even l-cancelled...) my only advise is:

Work on your tech skill, make sure u can consistantly do all the advanced skills (ur wavedashing is very shotty so definatly work on that.)

Stop rolling dodging so much. if u can wavedash if u can jump their is no need to RD so much its really predictable.

your opponent is bad as well so i advise u find someone else to play someone alot better if u want to improve as fast as possible.

doc is kind of hard to play for beginners so try an easier char like link, marth, falcon and learn all the skills with them. then try coming back to doc.

i noticed you missed wavedashes many times... that lowers your rating down drasticly ( I don't know how to spell... don't send me a PM...)
and, you also wavedashed when i don't think you needed too :/
also, you airdoged too much when there was no point in you air dodging...
Also, for some reason, it seems like your trying to be flashy... YOU SHOULD NOT BE FLASHY
I've played people who look really flashy, and look good... but when i play them... i 3 or 4 stocked them... so just work on those things... and it will go up from maybe a 4 or a 5, to a 7 or an 8... which is really really good :) Don't give up, i was just giving what i felt was the appropriate rating. i see your trying hard to improve... i noticed you have some nice SHFFLs.. but you still need to get a few things prefected with that... i found a few mistakes...
so good luck with your skill-improving.. maybe in a month, i'll see another video and it will be more of a 7 or an 8. and i'm looking forward to that, because it seems you wont have many problems getting that good .

well, thanks for the advice. i guess i need to practice wavedashing/shffl'ing/variety more. the guy i played in the vid just started playing smash after a 6 month hiatus so he was pretty rusty. give me a day or so to make more vids with better opponents. there are a lot of good smashers here on southern's campus.

I see that you're still learning the ropes.

Try to incorporate dash-dancing into your routine. It's hard to use at first, but eventually when you combine dash-dancing with empty short hops, pills, wavedashes back/forwards, aerials and jump-cancelled grabs, you can create and exploit a lot more openings.

Were you L-cancelling?

Doc is extremely reliant on grabbing to build up damage, especially in the fastfaller matchup. Grab, up-throw, then you can start chaingrabbing with u-throw or do consecutive jump-cancelled u-smashes. Or you can do a single up-tilt, then go into shffl'd up-airs. Or you can down-throw, then techchase into a f-air or d-smash or grab. Again, grabs are Doc's main source of damage.

I'd advise you against using Doc, not because he's hard to play, but because it's far too easy to develop really awful habits with him. People who pick up Doc tend to overly rely on pills and d-smash and ignore much of his other potential--which is pretty much what I saw in the vid.

Consider using Mario for a while, just to get the basic advanced techniques down. Using Mario--who lacks Doc's KO power and approach options with the pills--basically forces you to figure out how to combo and land grabs, as opposed to relying on pills/d-smash spamming with Doc.
