haven't played with an actual person in a long time, well haven't played the game in general..i still had these vids saved onto my computer based on a few friendlies i had against a friend, well my skill in smash is obviously the same as the ones in that video, or possibly even worse :( since well i haven't been around the tourney scene in a while

so basicallly i just want advice on how to improve my marth's game in whole, thanks in advance

even though my skill is completely compared to these videos that are months old(possibly worse), the link player is probably a lot better than in these vids now

You have a few good mindgames, as far as dancing in and out with wavedashes, try jump-cancelled grabs rather than F-Smashes all the time, simply because the F-smash leaves you open if its shielded.
Using the up+b as an offensive move is kinda rare in Marth players, try doing it out of your shield rather than as part of a combo.
You down smash a few times for an edgeguard... its always better to go for the F-smash and turn around with a grab, if you're trying to cover both sides of yourself.
Use your double forward airs more, there's no real reason not to. You could also try substituting an up air for the second aerial, it makes for great combos into up tilts or more aerials.
Try also using your second jump later on in your recovery, Marth has one of the best vertical up+b's in the game, it won't hurt you to save your jump. (That way, you can react to any projectiles or attacks thrown at you off the ledge)
Abuse your throws more, especially against Link. You can chain throw him forward 2 or 3 times, and if he DIs it wrong, you get a free tipper out of it.
Using the counter is fine, but try not to use it so much, your opponents will get used to it and start waiting for you to throw it.
Try using your up and down tilts after a single SHFFLed F-air, if you L-cancel properly you won't get shield grabbed out of the aerial, because you tilt at the time they'd grab. If they wait for your tilt, try using the neutral A after an aerials, then roll away and approach again.
Not a bad Marth, you just need to work on those suicides! ^_^

okay marth
you need to space your moves cause it was way too close
you used a move for no reason. dont just rush into a person with a nair.
game could be sped up.
i felt that you did not understand when the opponent was in defensive mode, because you fell into his trap, did a direct attack to close too the opponent, and he countered you
the link had you doing what he wanted you to, he mindgamed your place on the stage

i also shield too much, which i have to get rid of.

Your Marth isn't bad, but it can definitely be improved.

In my opinion, you should mix more aerial approaches with your ground-based approaches; double short-hopped FAirs work well against everybody if you space them right, but beware of the hookshot / grapple beam. To mix up short-hop double FAirs, you can jump after the first FAir and come down with a DAir if they try to grab you or crouch cancel the first FAir.

Also, at low damages, you can pretty much crouch cancel anything Link does to you can counter with an FSmash, aside from bombs. You should definitely work on your edgeguarding strategy; camping at the edge with DTilt is good, but against characters that HAVE to hit the edge above them when they recover, using Counter is better. This is especially true against Falco; countering his Firebird can lead to many gimp edgeguards. When you tried to get more aggressive with edgehopped BAirs, keep in mind that Link has to drop down a little before he can reel himself back up to the stage; you can use drop down, jump and FAir at the same time, and if that doesn't screw him up, try for a sweetspotted Dolphin Slash to save yourself and kill him at the same time.

One more thing; at high damages, watch out for Link's DThrow -> Spin Attack; it's a basic killing combo for him.

not bad, but 4 things to work on, L Cancelling ur shorthop aerials, Using Mind games more and not just rushing in, Wayy more spacing to get some good tippers, and also some more wavedashing. The wavedashing can also help ur mindgames
