As I am new here, hope this wasn't already done before, at least I couldn't find a thread like that for Ultimate. :)

Since the E3 Direct we know now, that every verteran is making a return in Ultimate, so I'd like to know, how you would rank subjectively all of the returning fighters regarding your sympathy torwards them pre game.
I know, it's a lot of characters, but I thought it would be interesting, if there are enough participants, I would also like to make an evaluation for overall sympathy.

Not rating Mii Fighters as I'm unsure about them, depends a lot on which special moves they choose for them when playing online. I also want to note that the only characters I really don't have any hope will be fun playing as are the F tiers, even amongst the D tiers I think there are potentially fun characters to be found, so it's not as negative a list as it might look like at first glance.

If we were to include newcomers then Ridley would top the lot, while Inkling and Daisy would be somewhere around C and D.

Reasons for my 'S tier' and 'F tier':
Corrin: I really loved Fire Emblem Fates, and I was so glad that Corrin was DLC. Unfortunately I never purchased him on Wii U/3DS but I'm really happy I have the chance to play him in Ultimate.
Greninja: One of my favorite starters from Pokemon. I was shocked he made it in Wii U/3DS and I'm very glad he's making a comeback.
Lucas/Ness: I really loved playing both of them in Brawl(Which was my first game) despite never actually playing or hearing about their respective games. Since Brawl they've become among my favorite Video Game characters.
Olimar: Similar to Ness/Lucas, Brawl really got me into Pikmin and I got Pikmin 3 when I got my Wii U and loved it a lot.
Dark Pit/Pit: It must be the fact that the two are literal angels that intrigues me, and their personalities are so distinct, I just love both of them a lot.
Robin: Fire Emblem: Awakening was my first Fire Emblem game and it's easily my favorite so Robin is logically a favorite of mine.
Yoshi: Yoshi has been one of, if not my favorite video game character ever. Any game he appears in I tend to gravitate towards him a lot.
Duck Hunt: Just such an oddball character with a really unique charm and both the Duck and Dog are just soooo adorable!
Pichu: The wise man's Pikachu! Such a cute little critter and it's appearances in the Anime made me love it so much more than Pikachu.
Villager: Been playing Animal Crossing since it's debut on Gamecube. No doubt one of my favorite additions to the roster so far.

Bayonetta: I felt she was overhyped and a better and more deserving character should've won the Ballot. I'm just bitter towards her because of that. Oh, and the fact that she was apparently super busted in Sm4sh and never got toned down to a good power level.
Sonic: Ughhh... I've never really liked Sonic. Especially after Shadow was introduced to the Sonic universe. Every time I see this blue hedgehog I just roll my eyes.
Young Link: I'm not a fan of multiple versions of a character in games like Smash unless they're costumes. Link? Awesome. Toon Link? Ehh, understandable. Young Link? Why
Wii Fit Trainer: Clever idea but... yeah, it's a no from me

Some thoughts: I never particularly cared for Snake or Bayonetta. Dark Pit and Lucina always felt like unecessary additions to me. I don't have a strong attachment to some other characters such as Roy, Shulk, Ryu and Cloud. A bunch of characters I'm pretty bad with: Jigglypuff, Wii Fit Trainer, Little Mac, Lucario. There's a lot more characters I love to play as though, all those in my top 35 or so. I'm excited about the new designs for the Zelda characters. I never really liked Luigi as a character.
