The http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150394]Radeon HD 4870 1GB just fell below the price of thehttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130434]GTX 260 Core 216! Is there something I am missing? Doesn't the Radeon 3870 outperform the GTX 260? Is the price drop a commercial move?

On a side note, I found this. It's prebuilt, but the sum of its parts barely fall under the price of the whole unit.. how are they making money off of this thing? What are the drawbacks of buying it?

What games would you plan on playing? Because if they are lower end games I would stick with the HD 4870 because it has much better Anti Aliasing. Oh and the HD 4870 runs GDDR5 which is faster than the GDDR3 that the gtx260 runs.

That computer you are looking at is a beast! The i7 is the best processor on the market, you could probably overclock it to 4 Ghz if you bought an aftermarket cooler. But even without overclocking it, it is such an amazing cpu. It also comes with the GTX 260 which can handle any game on max (exept for crysis) and it comes with more space than you need (1 TB). It is a killer system if you have the money! And it is almost as cheap as building it from scratch, so if you don't know how to assemble a computer, than you got yourself one killer deal!

I bet it could handle crysis (on max) if configured/fiddled with enough, we had it running smoothly on high over a year ago with a $700 computer.

But yeah I mean don't worry about it whatever you buy now will be old news in 6months, the most important thing is making sure the motherboard is flexable for upgrades.
