quick question on bouncing off the stage

Ok so in a few cases while i was playing someone would come up with a d-air and hit me while i am standing on the stage normally this would cause me to bounce off the stage and high into the air at a high percent but somehow i was able to not at all bounce up or be launched at all i just stayed in place got up and was able to punish I cannot find out how i did it but in one match it happened twice in a row on ganons d-air and i was at 180% yet i was launched nowhere and was able to take the win any clue on how this happens i have tried to make it happen in some friendlies but it only happens when i kind of panic DI because im pretty sure ive lost a stock

I guess you teched the dair i suppose?

In smash 4, moves that spike / meteor will now cause players to rebound off of the stage. When you're grounded and hit by such a move at higher percents, you instantly "hit" the floor before you'd naturally fly upwards. During this "hit" you're able to tech the ground and not go flying.

Yeah, definitely sounds like you were teching. Right as you touched the ground (no contact yet), you tap your L or R and your character would show an animation where you bounce back your feet and also he/she would flash white for a bit.
