Quick question about diminished knockback

Ok, from what i know, pummel attacks help to renew your other attacks but does every hit of down throw renew attacks, or just 1 downthrow=1renew.?

I ask this because i want to know the best way to renew my KO moves. ( not that it hurts too bad, but every percent counts.)

I'm pretty sure it counts as one move altogether, because for example Kirby's Dair only counts as one move despite the multiple hits.
