Quick question about brawlEx (not relating to my last question)

so i was just thinking.. obviously brawlEx needs work in order to make cloning work properly in the new P:M, but can i change a characters soundbank with the older version of brawlEx without causing issues? I'm completely new to brawlEx, so i dont know how it works exactly. can i change a soundbank now, keeping the normal character slot, and then when we get a working brawlEx for the new P:M can i clone the character later? (ie can i make different changes at different times, or does everything have to happen at the same time while cloning the character).

does this make sense? lol

You can make changes to BrawlEx whenever you want both original and clone characters, you just need to change the soundbank ID in their Fighter file using BrawlExConfigUtility, I don't know if they would be issues if you use a code for changing the sounbank and the Fighter file at the same time

hm okay..
ive been messing with the ConfigUtility, but im not sure what to do. Do normal characters have a fighter config already? or do i make a new one? And then when i have a fighter config, what do i do with it? where does it go in the PM files if i havent cloned the character (theres no brawlEx folder because i havent actually cloned anyone).

and lastly, what should i change the kirby soundbank to, and does anyone know what all the misc info is for in the config utility? i dont know what those things do.

If you still have the 'BrawlEx Clone Engine v2.0.0.zip' file you can find all the config files for all the characters in the "Config Templates" folder inside the zip, you need to copy the file you want to edit to the respective folder inside your SD (CosmeticXX.dat goes into CosmeticConfig and so on) because the BrawlEx module reads the files that are in the "BrawlEx" folder and then you only need to edit it, it doesn't matter if you have clone someone or not (I actually use for a couple of months my BrawlEx build without clones I only added costume to the original fighters).

The kirby soundbank it's just that, the soundbank kirby is going to use when you copy someone, also if you click on the name (for example KirbySounBank) you can read what that 'attribute' does (the KirbySoundBank says "Specifies the soundbank that is loaded for Kirby after copying the fighter").

thanks this is very helpful!

so just to make sure, if im not cloning someone and i just wana change their FighterConfig file, do i just add a "fighterConfig" folder in my sd card and id be good to go? Are there any other steps i need to take?
You mentioned the BrawlEx module.. what do u mean by that?

Yes, if your build is compatible with BrawlEx you just need to have their edited FighterXX.dat file in the FighterConfig folder inside BrawlEx to make changes to the files.
And the module it's just the "bx_fighter.rel" file that goes inside the module folder, it is needed in order for BrawlEx to work.

Ah okay so heres where the problem will be.. and what i was wondering..
I want to do this for P:M 3.5. Perhaps i didnt specify that lol

So the main thing i should ask is.. can i change a characters soundbank in P:M 3.5? or will i have issues because brawlEx hasnt been fixed for 3.5 yet?
