With how favorably custom stages are looked at for competitive play as an idea (not necessarily in practice), I thought I'd throw out an idea for a side event. In this event, participants create a custom stage to add to the list of stages.
Each participant is given 3-5 minutes (not sure of an exact time limit) to build 1 custom stage, starting from pressing the "Create" button and ending on pressing the "Save" button at the naming screen. Afterwards, a standard tournament follows, but the only legal stages are the custom stages built at the event.
I imagine these events are going to be extremely small due to the time involved building stages, and some problems may arise with No KO's, caves of life, unfinished stages that can't be saved, etc, so there may be a period where a few people evaluate the stages to make sure they are fit as legal stages.
