Hi everyone I play melee and I am very interested in playing Smash 4 I want to pick up a Wii u so I can play but im scared Nintendo would shut down the servers for Smash and other Wii u games.

I wouldn't worry about that, hun. The Wii U may be discontinued this year, but their online servers will still be active for several more years. Now, look here, sug. Brawl's online mode was active for about six years before it shut down. Smash 4 has only been out for a couple of years, so you're not too late for online services.
Yes, well...y'all can try Anther's Ladder for some decent competition. For Glory on the other hand is pretty hit-and-miss according to other users here.
