Im new to smash boards a fox main and just have questions since this is where most people go
1. The diddy hate ? I've never understood it. He seems less overpowered then he was from brawl. He cant control the stage anymore which limits his options to punishing your tripping.
2. I guess sakurai does love competetive people If you air dodge to the floor and tilt the controller you do a wavedash not useful but I guess? Yoshi has the longest one it seems.
3. Is there a certain age to play in tournaments such as evo? I usually attend local ones such as ones in gamestop.
4. Equipment people want in in play? Smooth lander I guess is cool but then that gets rid of weaknesses that characters have for a reason.
5. is there a equipment that removes endlag on specials cuz fox blaster......
6. final question Why complain about sonics backThrow and not ness.

Really feel like i shouldn't be feeding this terrible post, but i'm pretty bored so here goes.

1. If you recall, Brawl hate as a whole is very strong. Diddy is overrated but still probably the best character (if not shiek), it's a fighting game though. people get salty. People are worried that Diddy will become Brawl - Meta Knight.
2. ...What? that's not even a question, and if it was i'm sure the words aren't in the right order.
3. There's obviously no age limit on tournaments unless they serve alcohol. If you got the skills to make it in a big tournament, then they'll let you play.
4. I can guarantee you that the smooth lander equipment wasn't put in play to balance out characters weaknesses. The main issue with it is that it also gives stat boosts, like all equipment. If it was just the effect I could see a lot of tournaments trying it out.
5. End lag on specials exists for a reason. A laggless fox laser would be total horse****.
6. Plenty of people complain about Ness's back throw. Sonics might see some complaints because since it has an animation that caries the opponent before the toss, it can get the odd cheap kill on stages like SmashVille since you can use the moving platform to carry the opponent to damn near the blastzone before the toss actually happens.

Diddy is really strong. He's got safe aerials, an early kill combo, tons of frame traps, fast specials, wicked priority, and amazing space control. (I still don't think he's as big of a problem as people think he is, he's really gimpable)

...Are you saying there's wavedashing in Smash 4? Because there isn't. The closest is perfect pivoting, which has nothing to do with airdodging and is much much harder to pull off.

Not technically, but some tournaments might be at bars or casinos that have their own age restrictions separate from the tournaments. A TO is free to implement an age limit if he choses, though.

Equipment will never be legal in competitive play for many many reasons that have been discussed to death in other threads. If you're really interested, I could try to dig up an old post of mine where I explain it.

Because in order to throw you have to grab, which Sonic is good at doing and Ness is not. If you get grabbed by a Ness, you probably deserved it.
