Smash Wii U Question regarding the "View every fighter's Final Smash." challenge

The way this challenge is worded made me think that all you have to do is just go to Training to see the Final Smashes, but apparently that didn't count.

Do you have to view the Final Smashes in Smash mode for them to count?

I did it in training mode.
Also, Mii's aren't necessary for the challenge.

Then I must be missing something, because I could've sworn that I've seen every fighter's Final Smash at least once.

I'm quite sure I used all fighters' Final Smashes in training mode and the challenge block did not break for me. I assume you would have to view each Final Smash in a real match.

Try the following:
1. Training Mode
2. Start with any character of your choosing (I did Mario first then went left to right so that I could guarantee the challenge would unlock)
3. Choose a random stage (just keep the cursor on random) or choose your favorite stage
4. Do the entire final smash animation (includes transforming back for characters such as and )
5. Choose a new character (different from the ones chosen previously)
6. Repeat until the challenge unlocks. (As stated, Mii's apparently don't count towards the challenge. Do them at your own discretion)
If that doesn't work, then I don't know what else needs done (unless Mii's actually count towards the challenge).

If you want to make sure then go to fighter records and you can see how many times you've used a character's final smash. This challenge can also be done in training mode.

I found out not too long ago that I didn't see Fox's Final Smash. After I tried it out, the challenge got cleared.
