Question regarding Ping

I have a 50mbps download and upload speed and I really want to play Project M online on the wii with a smooth connection. However whenever I play I get a ping of around 101ms when connecting to US servers. I live in asia, so there are no PM servers set up here. Is there anyway to reduce the ping, or get it set up smoothly?
