Question regarding how to DI out of Marth's foward grab

Hello fellow Falco players. I recently played against a solid Marth player and he started most of his combos with a forward throw into forward throw...into forward throw. I have no idea on how or if I can DI out of that frustrating forward throw chain grab. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Chain grabs suck, easiest way to put it, just mix up your DI as much as you can and eventually you'll figure it out. All Marth players are different and go for different DI mix-ups.

To get out of the marth F-throw setup hold down shield and hold the c-stick away, this will buffer a roll away from Marth, you can buffer spot dodge then shine as well if you're feeling greedy.

Wrongamundo. I hate how people think that the fthrow chaingrabs. Uthrow is Marth's only chaingrab on spacies. To escape the fthrow "chaingrab", you only have to DI down and away. Don't make this more complicated than it needs to be.

No, not wrongamundo, to avoid getting insta-regrabbed, you need to buffer a roll or dodge. There's a reason I called it a 'setup' and not a chain grab.

If you can buffer a roll or spotdodge, can you not also shine as well? I realize it would require good timing, but it should work unless Marth's grab out ranges the shine right?

I did a little bit of research and I'm fairly sure that Marth's grab beats out Shine. Also, I'm pretty sure that the difference on that front is just that buffering rolls is different from just straight up rolling.

Ah good, I was wondering why I never see high level Falco's shine in this situation and assumed that was why. Thank you for the confirmation.
