The way in which you jump has no bearing on the outcome of the jump. They all are the same.

but yeah use whatever you feel is easiest

actually, unless your holding the controller in the claw formation or some awkward formation, most people shine cancel faster with up on the analog stick.
proof you ask

try doing this common combo/tactic

first the opponent has to be in the air

use your first jump to shine, then immediatly jump cancel to a bair. remember the shine lag until a jump can be executed is 3 frames, then the lag for ground jump is 6 frames. there is no lag for a midair jump
you wont notice this in a simple ground shine jump but you will in a jump shine jump bair.

okay this is situational in gameplay, but i see a good number of people(da shiz wiz or was it forward. look in the bair out of shine thread) use it anyway

try itr and you will see that most find it faster to jump cancel with a up tap in the analog

Me you ask. i either waveshine or just use x/y anyways cause it ruins your di if your using analog up.
