Question on importing vertexes

Ok so in the Brawl Vault they have a Travis Touchdown vertex hack with a really cool light saber. I want to know what vertex they hacked to make it look like that.

What I'm trying to do is personally take just the shape/vertex of the sword and import it over another Ike.

However I exported the 3 vertex files of the sword and imported them over a basic undited Ike but nothing changed on the model.

Basically, how do I get the light saber hack on another ike?

How? In BB I can import the whole model and it changes doesn't that mean some part of it can be changed?

BB can't edit vertices which is why we use DDVB
Even if you export and replace in BB it won't show up
But if you just want the model onto a different ike just export the model and replace it with the one you want replaced

It's about time I stepped in. I made that Travis Touchdown by the way.

1st thing you should know (I assume you just went in Brawl Box exported the verticies and imported it on another model). What you exported isn't the actual vertex set, it's more of a "label," telling the game that "this part of the model is this and it belongs here" and such.

But in response to your problem. Your going to have to open up the model and hex the vertex edits in.

How do I do that Beyond?

1. Open my model in a hex editor. Open my model in Brawl Box.

2. Go to the vertex set that you want to transfer in BrawlBox and click it. In the display to the right you should see something like MDLO offset and TotalLen. Keep note of those values somewhere (ignoring the negatives).

3. Convert those values to hex.

4. Now in the hex editor, go to the hex value of the MDL0 offset. And select everything up to you reach the TotalLen hex value. Copy and paste this data in the same location in your model.

Sorry. I'm not good with explaining stuff.

Or:
1. Export the vertex from the model you want (name it vertex.ddf)
2. Export the model you want it on (model.mdl0)
3. Open Vertex Box and make a 3DS out of the vertex.
4. Click "Insert 3DS to MDL0"
5. Type in the MDL0Offset (in the vertices of the MDL0) w/o the negative number
6. Import the new model.
