Question about Pika/Lucas matchup - from a Pika main

Hey, I was looking at the match-up thread from the tactical board, and I saw that the Pika/Lucas match-up is at a MAJOR disadvantage for Pikachu.

Now, even though I'm not even close to the highest level of Smash, I've still played a pretty good Lucas online. It was bad, his PSI magnet absorbed Thunder for a pretty big damage recovery, and he also absorbed my jolts, or worse, reflected them.

However, even though this put me at a disadvantage, I didn't feel it was anywhere close to say, Ness vs Marth, or DK vs D3, or Falcon vs Marth. Why is Lucas vs Pikachu considedered a MAJOR disadvantage, as opposed to just a disadvantage. Why is Ness considered a neutral match-up? Something I'm missing?

That is incorrect information. Pika loses a few options due to psi magnet, but still wins the matchup fairly easily at a high level. Pika is good.

I don't know why it says that. Sure, Lucas can absorb some attacks, but Pika is not an easy matchup. His Dsmash and F-smash keep Lucas very unconfortable while approaching.

Pika seems to have a really strong air game too, with controlled f-airs and such (it leads in to other things easy).

Dont rely on that chart at all. Its so wrong in so many areas.

Matchup Thread = fail

A Pikachu can be outright NASTY to Lucas/Ness. Just because we can limit maybe a single option of yours doesn't mean we shut down your playstyle. Pikachu FAR from relies on Jolt and Thunder (especially the latter).

Also, us eating Jolts is worse than us reflecting them. 20% health, Yum~!
