Question about Mii size.

Is there any advantage to not picking the shortest and thinnest possible Mii?

Because I see no advantage, in fact, feels like a disadvantage to not be miniscule.

Increased range on normal's is the only benefit you get for making your Mii larger. On Gunner though this is not only pointless, but actually doesn't affect projectile based normal's like F-Air, or F-Smash.

0/0 and 25/0 gunner have less range, but make up for it by having better mobility and less endlag than other sizes.
