Question about Hyrule Warriors

Does the Hori or the PDP controllers work for Hyrule Warriors? I really don't like using the Wiimote and Nunchuck, and my regular classic controller doesn't seem to work. Because of this, if I want to play co-op with my brothers, one of us has to use the gamepad while the other uses Wiimote+Nunchuck.
Both the Hori and the PDP controllers say that they are compatible with classic and classic pro compatible games, but I'm not sure if that includes Hyrule Warriors, or if I should just save up my money and buy a Wii U Pro controller instead.

Hyrule Warriors is only compatible with the Game Pad, Wiimote + Nunchuck and Wii U Pro Controller. If you don't like Wiimote + nunchuck then you don't have very many options aside from biting the bullet and getting a Wii U Pro Controller.
