Question about failed Fire Jump Punch Attempts

As you guys know, it sucks really hard to attempt a fire jump punch and end up only with a coin.

But I gotta wonder, do the coin hits count for decay/stale move negation?

As in, if you do 10 super jump punches, and end up only getting coin hits from them, and then you do a fire jump punch, is the damage + knockback severely reduced?

Yes, it does count towards diminishing returns, but I honestly wouldn't worry too much when the Fire Jump Punch is so ridiculously powerful.

I highly doubt that the only thing you're going to do is try to land the Fire Jump Punch on someone 10 times consecutively, so yeah, don't bother worrying about that really lol.

Well actually the reason I asked this is that a group of friends I have likes to do Luigi games with only Fire Jump Punches <_<.

yeah, sadly the attack does diminish whether you sweetspot or not

this includes the knee and zelda's shock feets and stuff

I don't think it goes down in power TOO MUCH that knockback becomes affected by a large margin.

...Of course who really use Fire Jump Punch 10 times in a row when you're using about 10 other moves to set it up!? :p

Seriously, you actually hit with the ^b so rarely (hitting shield doesn't count) that it will likely have full knock back by the time you actually connect with a fire punch. In the off chance that you actually do something like that you can always spam fireballs for a little like with foxes laser to recharge his usmash.

On a side note I think its somewhat disappointing that this is the case for falcon's knee...its so hard to hit with only to have the real hit diminished.
