Putting tapes to computer?

So my buddy recorded some matches on tape, and he gave it to me. We have a lot of matches on it , and I'm wondering what I need to transfer the VCR tape to my computer?

I have no idea how to use this ancient plastic device.

Read that to make sure you have the required materials. Then go to the bottom of the page and read the "Starting the conversion" page in the page index.

Another way you could do it I suppose is to have a VCR/DVD player. It should have an option to record the VHS onto a DVD. Then put the DVD in your computer and drag the file.
